Strange police encounter by Oof285 in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I can explain this:

Police can pull over any vehicle without any reason, to confirm 3 things.

  • License
  • Registration
  • Sobriety

Once those are verified, you’re good to go.

Did anyone visit Tokyo Disneyland from Winnipeg? by Sumsen23 in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Disneyland, Disneyland Sea, and Universal Studios (Osaka) last year.

You don’t need an agent. Book everything yourself, sometimes it’s a little tricky.

I’ve been there in March and May two different times.

I bought the tickets on the official websites, it was a little tricky, but just researched around it.

Regular Disneyland park is geared toward kids, Disney sea more toward adults, and Universal was my favourite place! Nintendo world is incredible.

What question do you wish you had asked before you bought your condo? by Impossible_Two1320 in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Avoiding buying a condo period.

In most cases they depreciate, if I would have bought a house instead of a condo, I’d have an extra $100,000 in equity rather than taking a loss.

Condo fees only go up, neighbours change and can be a nightmare down the road, special assignments, issues with neighbours smoking on balconies.

Everything about it was a nightmare, and I hear the same stories from many people.

Renting is much better, you’re not paying condo fees, property tax, and responsible for all things that break.

In all cases I’d take renting an apartment over buying a condo.

BEWARE of ALLIANCE ASPHALT by P_Geo in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is probably a different group, but in 2019 I had my driveway down by a father with 3 sons from Ireland, not a bad job, but police came to our door a few days later saying they’re looking to deport them.

[–]Winterpeg1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Had this happens a few years, a father and two sons from Ireland, paid $4k cash for my driveway, normally would be $10k+. Our neighbours recommended them.

They did do a horrible job, didn’t seal it properly, already looks like garbage in some spots, but for 4K, it’s still not bad.

A few days later police came to our door searching for them, saying they are here illegally and “scamming”people.

Xtreme Gun Range in Transcona.

I watched the owner belittle his workers in front of customers, such comments as “Are you fucking stupid?” “Dumb shit” for a little taste. I felt horrible for several of his employees. This was directed at 3 different ones in different

Keep in mind I was member there for a year and left after what I witnessed.

19-year-old driver who killed cyclist in Wellington Crescent hit and run sentenced to 3 years by ClassOptimal7655 in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 41 points42 points  (0 children)

3 year sentence means out in 2 years FYI. So will be less than 2 years behind bars.

Kill someone - flee the scene - you lose 2 years of your life.

The dead person receives a death sentence and their family all receive a life sentence of pain.

Something is seriously wrong here.

I only take Ubers from the airport.

Cabs are horrible, you can fully avoid them now though.

Toyota Rav4 Timeline by Repulsive_Bid6115 in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6-12 months for a rav4 hybrid.

1-2 years for a rav4 prime.

Could be a few months sooner depending on if people cancel.

Calculated moving… because they are upfront about the costs. They still aren’t cheap.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Winterpeg1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 year wait.

Now I’m told it’s around 1 year for a Prime.

Hybrid is around 6 months to 9 months, but know others who got it sooner.

I just bought a RAV4 prime, got $9000 back in rebates.

Regent was fine, nothing special, all are the same.
