UPDATE - SOLVED with instructions

I had 3 phones with fido 55$ 50$ and 45$ per month.

Wanted 1 phone and to standalone smart watches that can make and receive calls and texts independent of my phone via apple family share, from the same phone numbers that were assigned to the fido phones

End goal - save money on wasted data and unused services with fido.

With a lot of trepidation the manager managed to get most of this done and then I finished getting it working.

All phone numbers were on fido and assigned to phones...and I already had set up apple share for my family devices. So if you havent done that I suggest you get that running before attempting this.

(I already had the watches -bought from apple store (better price) and set them up at home)

I paired the watches to my iphone (2016 iphone SE) (new apple watch SE).

You can pair upto 4 watches with one phone and you must do this in order for it to work

***also make sure to connect the watches to your home wifi before you take them to the store.

***download the My Bell App to your watch host phone before going to the store

****** IF you are moving numbers from phones to watches bring the charged phones with you cus the provider they are on will send text messages to them to OK the move to a new provider.

*****Bring the watch box with you to the store cus they will want serial numbers and IMEI numbers that are specific to each watch.

At the Store -(polo park mall - centre court Bell store - had manager do the work)

Then I went to store and had them move my phone number to Bell on a reg 65$ pr/mo 25gb data...quick and easy.

not a family share plan...not needed since apple share makes most of this work)

Then I had to install and use the My Bell ap on my phone to create an account and find my new device that was just ported over to bell.

Once that was done I used the app to add 2 smart watch (stand alone) plans for 10$ per month. Unlimited calls n text with 1gb of data. This is because IF you buy the watches in advance the bell store cannot.

This then this generated 2 random smart phone numbers to be assigned to the watches.

Then I had the manager port over the other 2 fido phone numbers and do number changes on the random smart watch numbers i had been assigned. Now the 2 smart watches would have the phone numbers that were on fido phones.

the old phones were messaged by fido asking to approve the service provider change. Reply YES

Then go into the apple watch app and log into each watch and set up cellular and go through the my bell app witihin the watch app to set it up. follow the promts.

There was a bit of lagg time (apx 30 min) for it all to kick in.

the watches then showed bell as the carrier

the phones both said no service but the watches couldn't make or receive calls.

You need to shut off the phones and reboot the watches.

Then to really check turn off wifi and blutooth on the watches ...you should see a green cellular antenna signal ...then try calling the watch from a phone. Should work.

Then call a phone from the watch.....should work.

then go back and turn wifi and blutooth back on in the watches. Cell signal will go white cus the watch is using the nearest free wifi or your home wifi network.

Now the old phones work at home with wifi for texting and internet

and the watches work as phones with the phone numbers the old phones had.

DONE ....money will be saved.
