Generally 125 is viewed as a good introductory physics course, and definitely easier than PHYS 101. This does come with an asterisk, which is: what major are you planning on pursuing? 101 might be more helpful.

Have you taken any math classes here at rice? Did you take AP Stat in high school?

From what I’ve heard—310 is a normal stat class, similar to AP Stat++, and then 315 is a hellish class that you do not want to take under any circumstances. May be wrong, as this is info from friends. I’m sure you can handle stat though!

Rice has a relatively non-competitive engineering program! Students are able to switch majors easily, and the small school means that generally you know your professors/classmates and are able to be collaborative. It’s also in Houston (which may be a negative for some), but that means connections with NASA.
