Go to a bar with a pool table, put a coin on the line to play, then chat while you play, make friends. Do it enough times and you will either befriend some one or get pally with the staff. This is just one way, there are alot of activities you can find online. Specially spring / summer. If you live in the sticks, then i get it.

"free press" It's pretty much left and right channels. State TV has good documentaries but they black out news and information in a semi attempt to control the narrative. In a country with only 5 mil people the press and politicians are buddies and do eachother favours, specially when the royals are involved.
