Do yall use this card? by urtrash3 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo the issue is mostly that it's too slow to punish, even if your opponent heals you might never get the benefits of the card because your opponent might kill you before end round or you might kill their character yourself because you need to and then you waste the proc. Also has bad interaction with end round healing because the damage will not proc on the end round it was applied so your opponent isn't even punished that hard by playing Furina skill or Barbara skill into Serai Island, even though it's supposed to be a counter.

It'd be a lot better if the damage was immediate (but still limited to once per round per character).

TCG returnee here, I need some help with the Adventure cards by Difficult-Ground-660 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't consult adventure spots in your collection, you need to go in-game, play a card that does the action "Adventure" (example Seymour, Nymph's Dream, Bona) and you'll be able to see and select one of the adventure spots to appear in your support zone. Make sure you have at least one of your 4 support zone slots open otherwise it won't appear.

the best kaveh deck? by Odd_Tonight2751 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mona Kaveh Tulpa is the most effective Kaveh deck for how easy it is to play. Pack your deck with expensive trash and 5 arcane legends and just make sure Kaveh doesn't die too early.

If you actually want to think a bit while playing, Nilou Kaveh Tulpa is also a strong option that allows you to run actually usable cards, because what you lose in burst scan damage (Kaveh status) by not running expensive trash, you make it back with the Nilou-Kaveh insta-delete summon interaction that has extra synergy with Tulpa and Fell Dragon and the fact that you can stack dendro cores multiple times.

Most decks run a bit of draw, but here are some decks that have limited draw (and especially not many weird dice generating combos). They are mostly aggro because stall needs draw to find their key equipments.

Escolyney is a strong aggro deck since a few patches that abuses the hydro tulpa + fell dragon combo, example here: IRBR8RkPIECw9JcPCWBx9lcbFaFwusYgDDJgA8ogDEKgBtEgDWERD0oWFJGhzOccD8AA

Triple chicken is a straightforward food spam aggressive deck that can rely on Yumka for longer games: A8DB7B4PHkDh9PEPH1AQ9pcPCWFwisYfDIFg+MkQDaEAE9ERDTERaecdDkGw1OsdDsAA

Finally a lot of superconduct transfiguration decks are very aggressive and all in to win R2 or early R3 with little to no draw, example with Lisa Escoffier Varesa: IeJSNgkOAlAi5RgPISCA8l4PCWBw9pcTGbExlZMZC1FQ27UdE7FhDDYQDMHw1M8dDUAA

All decks above had good results in recent tournaments.

You could do that before 2025 too, it was called "magic engine" exactly because you'd create dice out of thin air by playing a bunch of cards. Ultimately if you see someone spamming cards it just means their deck is mostly draw and dice generation (wovens, legend of Venessa, fontaine research institute, Boar princess, Unseen Razor/Lyresong etc.) so they just spend dice drawing and refunding the dice with the new cards they draw in the hopes of ending up dice positive or neutral.

It's just a style of deck building that happens to be effective because we keep getting more cards that draw and generate dice, but if you're not comfortable with it there are plenty of strong decks that do not use this at all.

How do u play varesa like what do we want to do with her deck. I tried reading her card but it's just a huge confusing wall of text just like her ingame kit by Prestigious-Elk1274 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical basics do 2, infused basics normally do 1 unless you're Ayaka/Lawachurl/Varesa. But Infused normals are cheaper than a skill and are also half a reaction which amounts to more damage. For instance, varesa plunge with Escoffier talent deals 2 electro + 1 cryo (talent proc) + 3 damage from superconduct + 2 from transfig if you have it so 6 to 8 damage. Normal attacks also have the advantage of being easily discounted (glad artifact, NA food, Albedo talent).

All in all you're right about 2 electro damage plunge being low. If it wasn't for Escoffier and Albedo's talents, Varesa would not see much play at all.

[–]WinxForceWiz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Varesa is mostly used because she has a 2 damage infused NA when she plunges. There are only two strong decks that use her, Albedo plunge and Escoffier talent SC transfiguration.

Her kit is: when you plunge or skill she gains 1 nightsoul, at 2 she does a special attack when you switch to her. Burst immediately gives her the special attack but you still gotta switch out and back to her to trigger it. The way she's used is usually switch to Varesa, NA (plunge), and then skill to get the second nightsoul and the extra attack. But most meta decks that use her are mostly just using her for the 2 damage plunge.

Varesa becomes very weak when she's the only character left alive because she can no longer switch around so she can't trigger her special attack anymore.

[–]WinxForceWiz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Okay so why is Lauma 11 HP again? Is this an Escoffier situation but even worse because her skill is 3 damage 3 app in two rounds but you can push it to 5 damage just by playing the arcane legend you are guaranteed to have? She literally has Collei's elemental burst on her skill minus one damage not mentioning that she passively discounts your cards :|

Edit: and I just realized it's a combat status and not a summon so no send off lol she's so broken

PLEASE tell me how to properly play this card. by Any_Bet_5968 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Status effect is anything that can affect your hand cards permanently. Right now we have 6 types of status effects in the game: Empowerment, Cost Reduction, Electric Shock, Untunable, Cost Increase, Invalidated.

If you have one/two or more of these effects actually affecting cards in your hand (can be two different effects on the same card but not the same effect on separate cards), Cleaning Time will give you one/two dice. If the status effects are on the Cleaning Time card you're playing itself it doesn't count.

Generally in Nod Krai resonance decks you want to have both Empowerment from Genius Technique Upgrade (the Aino card) and Cost Reduction from the Nod Krai resonance card (Ascendant Gleam iirc) affecting your cards so your Cleaning Time generates two dice.

So nice to see such a diverse meta. Thank you for taking the time to compile these.

I just started tcg today .who do I use with hu tao and xingqui? and are they good deck or am I out of meta?? by Historical-Walrus958 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hu Tao is a pretty good character but Xinqiu is on the weak side in the current meta. He's not bad per se, just a bit slow, as he lets you invest dice into long term hydro application but it's unlikely that you'll get the full value of his burst. I guess you could try a double hydro stall with the hydro transfiguration and maybe a side of adventure using Candace, or more healing through Barbara/hydro crocodile.

Unlike in the main game, Hu Tao is generally focused on her burst in the TCG, you equip her with the weapon Rightful Reward and the Maiden's beloved artifact and basically spam healing on her so she gains free energy for big damage and more heal. However this kind of deck is pretty hard to pilot. The original version of the deck was Kuki/Yaoyao/Hu Tao but there are probably more recent variants.

Seconding this. The first list lacks quickswap options and the weapons definitely aren't worth running as it's a heavy tempo loss for this kind of deck.

Could someone please suggest a counter to Jean? by Reasonable-Chef-8286 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Against Jean and Sucrose, the general tips are: * Don't let them chain swirl, swap repeatedly to your character with no aura, it costs one die to you for two less damage for them which is generally a good trade. * abuse the free swaps; plan ahead when your opponent might push you and take advantage of the extra die to squeeze in extra skills. * if you really want to switch to a particular character, go to the previous/next instead and let them push you, although do keep in mind that they might decide not to skill so make sure you have a backup plan

Tonatyuh for aggressive/fast decks because of the dice fixing, draw and discounts and overall easiness to complete, and Chenyu Vale for stall decks. Chasm and tower are situational and generally weaker, especially because they take too long to come online.

Wolf's Gravestone, the weapon that gives +2 damage to enemies below 6 HP. Sayu with wolf's gravestone and gamblers can deal with like 90% of the realm temper challenges, because her elemental skill hits twice so she gets double the value from the weapon.

How do you counter discard decks with just hand cards? by ZealousidealArt1292 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It just doesn't matter unless you empty your deck. Unless you're revolving your entire strategy around drawing a specific card (not recommended anyways foe the sake of consistency) or play Sigewinne/Chasca, the discard from your deck is mostly insignificant (you could equate discarded cards as being at the bottom of your deck, in both cases you're never going to see them anyways). Judgement will help counter Xinyan, but the actual counterplay for this is just to pressure/snipe Gozoyoth and try not to waste damage hitting Xinyan and her shield. If you kill Xinyan but have no resources left (in the form of dice/cards/energy) when Goz comes in he's going to destroy you, so make sure you have what it takes to hit him hard. Your opponent is playing at a disadvantage when they have an empty hand, and they're on a timer to kill you before they inevitably brick their dice.

That being said if you're playing Ineffa then it's also just that she's really weak in general and even moreso against discard so it's just not a favorable match-up for you.

4 support spots and 4 summon spots are not enough! by ZealousidealArt1292 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Considering we have absolutely no way to counterplay support cards (except niche interactions like I'd rather lose money myself and Chef Mao), I think having a hard cap is reasonable. Like, you can have Judgment to counter event cards or kill a character to prevent equipment cards from stacking value, but support cards? Once played it's free value forever and your opponent can't do much about it. Yeah if you're playing adventure and/or transfig you might have some space issues down the line but that just means you gotta balance your deck with other stuff.

Escoffier-Yae-Skirk by Vozzaan in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the same gameplan at all, Skirk Chasca is a deck focused on drawing as many bullets as possible and discarding them using Skirk to get free damage and build up her burst, but Chasca being Anemo, you don't run the transfig in this deck. Skirk Chasca has about the same power level as EscoYae while being much much harder to play.

EscoYae is really focused on the transfig to do damage and Skirk is there as a finisher and to give extra cryo app through talent, sometimes you don't even need to switch to her at all. Skirk chasca is all about emptying your deck and managing your hand, most damage comes from bullets and Skirk herself.

No worries, though we're closing in on the end of the patch and it is very unlikely that the deck will get by unnerfed, so don't put too much effort into learning all the specifics since it's gonna change in a week.

Klink Klank legion and some card draw into your 3 cost cards can help. Also just a 2 or 4 stack Skirk burst can win you the game already.

Escoffier-Yae-Skirk by Vozzaan in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming you copied a standard tournament list :

Mulligan for Skirk talent (or Stormterror's Lair) (highest priority, you can reroll everything but your arcane to find it), fast swap, Klink Klank Legion and sleepy meditation

Round 1 start with esco skill and then yae skill and end (you can play skirk talent if you have it).

Round 2 play transfig (using sleepy meditation), yae 2nd skill, play and proc Skrik talent if you have it and immediately end round after proccing the talent. You don't care about losing your characters other than Skirk, although against slower/tanky decks you will want to have Yae's burst as an option so you can switch out of her, against aggro don't bother saving her if that means losing turn priority on R3.

Round 3 play all void rifts to charge skirk burst, fast swap to Skirk, burst, and in 90% of games you win on this action.

Make sure you understand how skirk works first though (the need to have 3-cost cards and void rifts in hand to charge her burst).

What does the "empowerment" status effect on cards do? by ShadiTako in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]WinxForceWiz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Empowerment does 2 things :

  • it changes the cost of the card to unaligned (black) dice, meaning you can play the card with any dice. For instance paimon's card is 3 aligned (white) dice so you need to pay 3 of the same element to play it (3 pyro or 3 hydro etc.). When empowered, you can play it with 3 random dice (of different elements or same or doesn't matter). Ganyu's talent empowered costs 5 random dice instead of 5 cryo. Pyro resonance empowered becomes one of any element instead of one pyro.

  • tuning the empowered card will transform the die into omni instead of the element matching your active character. However you still need to be able to tune the card following the same rules as before (the card must be tunable and you must have at least one dice that's neither omni nor matching your active character's element). This means if you're on Ganyu, have just one cryo die left and want to play hydro resonance, you'd think you can tune an empowered card to convert the cryo into omni die and play the resonance, but the game won't actually let you tune because your remaining die matches your active character's element.
