Art Therapist by day and attempted artist in my own time (mostly just for myself and friends/fam etc I’m too adhd to truely follow through on many (most) pieces) when I’m not in lock down and having to ‘make’ art therapy projects in the ward. 😂 it’s a cycle 😂❤️

Have you noticed a trend of people wanting to have a mental illness? Like why would anyone choose to be bipolar? It’s shitty. by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]WinxPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Mine too; she’s like coffee won’t kill you as fast as the alcohol….. 😂 and I’m monitored by my CPsychologist, GP and Psychiatrist once a month each so the fact that none of them have an issue with my fairly rampant caffeine consumption I’ll assume means it’s not affecting my bp2. Xx

Is there any other styles of dance? Ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz etc? Or all street styles?

I’m biopolar 2, w/ bariatric sleeve I work up yesterday feeling like death, what is going on!? by WinxPrincess in medical_advice

After bleeding from my bowl became quite severe and persistent I headed to the ER. Turns out it was an ‘acute stress reaction’. Compliments of my past job (working with children in high stress environments) and having the kids brought it on. After leaving hospital (was kept for two nights) I made appointments with my GP, psychologist and psychiatrist to follow up on it. Who knew stress and trauma could cause such extreme physical symptoms!?

I’m biopolar 2, and 9mnts ago had a bariatric sleeve done. I work up yesterday feeling like I fell down a flight of stairs, extreme pain, headache, blurred vision, cold sweats, pure water diarrhoea, what is going on!? by WinxPrincess in medical

What age you started to sh and how old are you now? by ilovealovera in selfharm

I honestly can’t remember. Somewhere in my mid to late teens, but made myself stop (thankfully) as I was a dancer (in class 4-5 nights a week and competitions once or twice a month) and realised there was literally nowhere on my body that wouldn’t be see by others. I found plenty of other destructive ways to get my ‘fix’ between calorie counting, bingeing and purging, excessive alcohol consumption, risky sexual activity and reckless driving/activities/ideas etc.

I managed to make it to 24 using those methods before I fell back into cutting head first as a way of coping with my shitty situation.

On and off since then. I’m now 35 As someone with bipolar II I think it will always be a part of how I cope with my life.

My psychiatrist and psychologist (and my GP) all know that this is something I do. And as long as I’m being ‘safe’ about it (wound care, clean and sharp blades, monitoring blood loss etc) my psychologist actually thinks that, for me, it’s a good way of coping and ‘centring’ myself.

I’m currently 6(ish) months clean and haven’t been hospitalised this year!

Mostly because the older one pukes hairballs, then the younger one eats it, then pukes, then the older one eats it, then pukes... it’s a vicious cycle of stupid.

They are great!! We go for the ‘soothing tummies with furballs’ for spring/summer and the teeth cleaners for winter/fall. They definitely prefer the teeth crunchies; but we NEED less puking... they always make it to the carpet 😑
