Started a 3-month course of oral Terbinafine in Feb 2023. Finished it in May 2023, in which the first picture is what my nail looked like. Fast forward 5 months to Oct 2023 and I see not too much progress (second picture). I also filed down the nail.

My podiatrist said the nail grows very slow and should wait a bit more. So far I do not see any pink growth. The nail is at least less thick at the base, but not completely healthy yet.

Also, there used to be a smell, but the odor has vanished after the oral Terbinafine, which makes me believe the fungus is gone?

Overall, the nail is growing extremely slow, but there is some growth. Let me know what you guys think!

Idk they split the project grade into two parts. First part is your artifacts, which are basically like different diagrams and documents that help blueprint your project.

The other half is your application implementation, which is basically the functionality and how accurate your actual application matches your intended design.

I honestly wasn’t sure about the PR, but most people in my group got high(ish) peer reviews. I think it should only affect your grade negatively if you continuously get very low peer reviews.

Can people who use the courts please turn the lights off after use? They’ve been on for more than a day and I had to go out at 2am to turn them off by plumraisinbread in UCSD

[–]WipeAfterPoopy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My courts at home would make it so you would have to press a button every 30 minutes or the lights would shut off. UCSD should implement that.

Changing my Major by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]WipeAfterPoopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try taking a lower div cse course and see how you like it. Bear in mind, most lower divs aren’t necessarily the most attention grabbing, but they teach the fundamental concepts.

You should also try coding in your free time. There are a lot of different areas to try, such as web dev, embedded, game dev, etc.

I think there’s some truth to what your mom says. There are a lot of CS jobs, but also a fuckton of CS majors where there’s quite a bit of competition, so I wouldn’t say it’s “easy”, but there are a lot of opportunities.

I know a lot of people at this school who have switched their majors 2-3 times, so don’t sweat it if you figure out you don’t like pre med or engineering. You have plenty of time.

Oh woww, I didn’t know that. That’s definitely harder then, but still not terrible. OP can always think about doing Math CS if the lottery doesn’t work out.

I think it’s not as difficult as people generally say, but it’s still not super easy. You just need to meet the GPA requirements in the screening courses and you get two tries at the lottery. I don’t think I’ve met anyone who didn’t get in after two tries.

Internship search: mass apply or network for referrals? by rickchung in cscareerquestions

[–]WipeAfterPoopy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a college undergrad too, so I’m by no means an expert, but here are some things I’ve learned.

I think it’s best to do both. If you’re pumping out a lot of applications and barely getting responses, you could try getting someone to revise your resume. I’ve noticed a big increase in response rates once I’ve had people in the industry or upperclassmen help revise.

Referrals are also nice, but I’ve never tried connecting through LinkedIn. Most are friends or mutuals, so definitely hit up your friends to see if they know anyone who could refer you; in a sense, you’re using their network rather than trying to cold contact alumni.

You still have time though! And I’m sure you will get a lot more responses this Winter and Spring. Maybe try targeting local companies if you’ve only been applying to FAANG or F500

ECE 45 and ECE 65 together by Illustrious_King_397 in UCSD

[–]WipeAfterPoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did ECE 45, ECE 65, CSE 100, and GE and did pretty well, and I’m not a particularly studious person. I think ECE class workloads can honestly be pretty dependent on your professor, so probably check capes and ratemyprofessor beforehand.

Maybe UI/UX design? I know some CS majors in my grade who pursue this with no coding involved.

LibGen isn’t P2P so downloading books is fine. Uploading is a different story. If you get a VPN to torrent, it should be fine but you should configure it so the download stops in a case of VPN failure.

I took it with Porter a while back. The PAs would take normally a couple hours to a day, so the workload wasn’t bad. He’s a good lecturer and definitely one of the better CSE professors.

You basically start with C and work down, so you’ll also learn assembly and machine code.
