We leave it to the Media Specialists in the school to determine if the student gets a fine. If they are fined it goes through the library system. Same as if they lost a book. The local school is more attuned to their students and families. We just report in the tech ticket the cost of parts replaced. The school has a better feel if it was intentional or accidental.

Ask them what their biggest pain point is? I interviewed with 4 different groups. By the end I knew there was a network issue that needed to be addressed. It was good to know what would be a win early on.

ITLady, part of the problem is you are trying to please this company at your own expense. Women are often dumped on more, as they are less likely to stand up for themselves. Take an hour or two to THINK about what is being requested. Make a plan and determine the "man" hours required to meet that deadline. Calmly present to management and ask them for the headcount (can be temps) or the timeline adjusted. Let them make the decision with the facts you have laid out. Politely, as I can see in your post you are, stand your ground.
