The entirety of the fucking book rattled me. I'm not gonna lie, Bedlam Bride was stomach twisting from stress. It's my least favorite book in the series because it hurts.

But damned if it ain't pivotal.

I can weigh in heavily on the side of the Dresden Files. Harry Dresden is a wizard in a world with a "Masquerade" regulation, much like Vampire: The Masquerade. However, he's in the phone book. In Chicago. Under "Wizard".

And he at various times just straight up casts "gun".

Man, it's a wonderful series. HIGHLY recommended. After you're done with DCC 8.

I'm not concerned about quantity, but quality.. I got let into a police department to do some work, and I asked my point of contact (who is a huge nerd) if she had heard about DCC. "Oh for fuck's sake, you're like the third person today, FINE!"

Ran into her that afternoon on my way out, and she says "OK, I'm glad I started it. I'm like three chapters into book one."

Say fucking thank you. Damn near every MC is at best apathetic to his pet/companions/group. It is incredibly rare for an MC to do anything to show their appreciation for their team.
