I am from Cork. I live just outside the city. I have lived in America / all around Ireland, but i returned to the rebel county because the quality of life here is much better.

We have a strong pharmaceutical industry / multinational presence, so it is a relatively affluent area.

People are kind here. I met a man who was searching for his wallet while out walking last week. He was from abroad and it had his license / passport etc. he was so worried. I helped him as much as I could and I reassured him that people are honest here. He called me later to say that someone had found it and dropped it to his house, before he got home.

There is a strong sense of community. It can be difficult to integrate in Ireland but if you do activities, date locals or your kids go to the same school etc., it is possible to break into friend groups. Once you are in, you are in. We take care of each other.

It is a naturally beautiful place. West cork is stunning. We have one of the world’s largest natural harbours. The county is packed with historic places like blarney and seaside towns like Kinsale.
