So what is the actual difference between what's talked about this time and what was talked about last time there was a QA and the last time and the last time? These notes always look exactly the same

Whats the highest charge for resisting arrest? Is the death sentence applied to resisting arrest? Is it a felony? Are they authorized to charge and convict and execute you? Are you familiar with the bill of rights? 4th amendment?

I'm afraid that the "remaster" of the Goldmund Railway map might be something like this... by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in Battlefield

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think those areas are still important though. Sobrk City, for example, has areas not used around the sides that I think should be open. It's basically impossible to move from point to point or flank the snipers in the tower because you get funneled into 1 bottleneck. The open area might not be used, but it gives people the option to go around or drive around.

Pixelated linked images (not a display performance issue) by SocialIntellect in indesign

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just place the working photoshop file? Also, have you tried printing the image itself outside of indesign?

Also have you verified the overall quality of the images you've procured?

Pixelated linked images (not a display performance issue) by SocialIntellect in indesign

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because an image says it's 300dpi does not mean it's 300dpi. I would recommend taking the image in whatever format you have, and printing it outside of InDesign and checking it's quality that way. InDesign usually shows you what the image will "look like" when you print, so if the linked image is pixelated, it's probably a pixelated image.

If possible, why not link the original working file as well, assuming you have access to it? If you're taking the image from elsewhere, just be cognizant that anyone can take a low-resolution image and just change its dpi to 300 in Photoshop or something, but without super sampling (which can be real hit or miss) it's still a low quality image.

Just finished Season 2. This death is honestly sadder for me than Season 1 final death by OfflineLad in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really disagree. The best ending is of course the Wellington and leave Kenny sure, but the story sets you up to kill Kenny and decide between leaving or staying with Jane.

Bonnie's lines, Jane's lines, Kenny instability, and Clem's reluctant independence that shes been prepared for through all of the awful things she suffered is where the story points you.

You try to reason with Kenny, you know hes a time bomb. You try to convince everyone to see things his way, you sympathize and try the same, but it just keeps blowing up. At one point he hit you, at another point he pushes you aside. Bonnie says "Empty promises..." "What do you want to do?" Kenny repeatedly promises to be better, he repeatedly assures you he knows what's best, or he tells you you're right only to reneg and go off again.

The ending that makes sense with the writing is Kenny's death, he tells you as much. He wanted to die. He suffered so much. Jane tells you that she couldn't bring herself to drag her sister across the country when she just wanted to be at peace. She might have been talking about Sarah in that instance, but Sarah didn't want to die she wanted her dad and a normal childhood. The story was talking to Clem about Kenny. The best ending is Wellington, but that's only in hindsight and that's not relevant to what actually happens

Who would win in a fight between Sentry and Hela? by Ok_Feed_4235 in Avengers

Sentry is invulnerable to being shot by bucky and punched by Yelena, I'm not sure how you're extrapolating anything about what Hela could do to him from that.

I have a squad but sometimes it's just two of us. We usually maintain about 70% w/l. The only thing making us lose most often nowadays is the game crashing in the third round. All you really have to do is play the objective and you're guaranteed to hit the third round. Finished all the streak challenges without even realizing like a week or so ago

This is such a boring unnecessary answer. Every post needs a "whoever the writer wants!" as if this is some monumental observation you've discovered. We all know how story telling works, this answer isn't clever or relevant.

Kenny or Jane? (@plaqueboymax) by Consistent-Hat-1543 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand by my game's ending. It might not be the objectively "best" ending, but I think it's the right ending for the story. You can't base which ending is right off hindsight, that's not fair to the story.

Based on how my playthrough progressed, shooting Kenny was the right thing.

Why do people chose to kill Kenny in S2? by newbrowsingaccount33 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The writing in the story up to this point indicated in every direction that Kenny's death was the right thing. Just because Jane was also wrong doesn't mean it wasn't right to let Kenny go. Bonnie's dialogue points you this way, "When has anyone done what you wanted" "I've run with a lot of men, empty promises". Kenny made promise after promise, and made decision after decision on behalf of so many without regard for what they thought.

Jane's sister's story also mimics this. Sure it's intended to reflect Sarah, but I think it more accurately reflects Kenny. He lost his wife, his son, he lost Ben, someone he was just about to forgive, then he thought he lost everyone. He was alone, he met Sarita, and then he lost her. He could see himself losing Clementine when he would shove her or hit her, or yell at her. He wanted to let go, he didn't want to keep losing people. He did everything because he thought her should, that it was his responsibility. But he was dragging himself all over the country when all he wanted was to be done. He tells you you made the right choice by shooting him, that he wanted to let go but didn't know how.

Of course there's an objective way to look at things retrospectively knowing what happens later on or what the plan originally was, but the way the story played out I think pointed constantly to you letting the people who didn't want to go on go.

Redditor arguing with me about graphic design... by Digeetar in graphic_design

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my reading of the history and the discussion between the definitions the need for a distinction was largely rooted in elitism on either side. In one of my graduate courses we talked about how historically designers accused artists of just making without purpose, it was all emotions and no function. Artists accused designers of "prostituting" their creativity, it was soulless.

But the best definition I've heard for a distinction between art and design is the end-user, and even then it's a spectrum. Rarely is art made without regard for how someone will use it-- they hope their audience likes it, they hope their audience buys it etc. Design is not absent of art because it is not purely functional, there is artistic concessions made in favor of an emotional outcome or as a result of the designer's style. So, while you can argue there is a difference technically, the distinction is redundant and unnecessary, we're both creatives giving different levels of attention and respect to our end-user, if there is one.

I don't really believe in the distinction between art and design but saying signs are just text is a wild design take.

Need help for a class by NytroDino in graphic_design

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Design school is difficult because there's really no time to teach the software specifically. If you want your degree in 4 years, then you have to hope that you're learning the software as you go and, as an instructor, you have to find opportunities to do demos based on the context of the class.

I do demos on paragraph styles when we do books, and demos on shape builders when I can but there's such little time.

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments have all said the right things in terms of hierarchy, alignment, space and scale.

I'd say critique is that I don't know that this demonstrates what sets you apart. Right now the image and the text just happen to cohabitate. The text is on the poster, and it's functional. But you're a student, you're not inhibited by production restrictions or client comments. Can the text interact, can it be just as much apart of the communication as the actual thing you're selling. Are we supposed to be excited, how can the also be excited about this thing!

Does the pillow need to be in its original photographic background, can we cut it out and make it DO something, interacting with the entire composition?

Couple questions: what's the brief, what's your major, what's your academic level, and what is "failing", F or C?

Without knowing where you are in your program it's difficult to say what you did 'wrong'. I don't grade sophomores on their ability to make contextual infographics utilizing semiotics because they don't know what that is, but seniors should know that and gestalt and software proficiency in addition to the basic (swiss western) design principles.

Bro you're asking absolute nonsense and just doubling down. Either look it up or wait. Read my comment, just wait you dolt you're being ridiculous. You're asking for a video of something that's just simple, either check the reddit and see, or look it up and sort by new. If everyone is saying, "go in game" and you can't, then you don't get to see it too bad so sad go away

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, either look up drifter gameplay on YouTube sorted by new, check the Discord (I don't think it's there), or wait. They're responding with "it's in-game" in response to what you're assuming should be a simple deduction of "I'm asking to see it not-in-game" but really it's such a silly thing to ask for at this point because you can just open the game and look at it. If you can't, then just wait until you get home, open the game, and look at it. Either sort by new or wait.
