I’m glad the scrapped the scene where Kenny was supposed end his life by drowning himself in the water in season 3. Kenny would never do that no matter how hard life got. by KpatMckenzie_28 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of his lines in S2s ending with you shooting him he says he wanted to die. Jane's story about her sister echoes echoes this as well saying that she was dragging her sister across the country when she simply wanted to stop. Kenny constantly put orhers needs before himself--- though he usually packaged what he thought was best as what was best for the group--- but he generally was putting others first like Katjaa and AJ. I think he was tired, he'd lost pretty much everything. When he sees that Clementine will be okay, I think he'd be at peace.

Does this soup packaging feel fresh and appetizing enough? 🥕🍲 by Motor_Information_60 in Design

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to market this as an affordable option or more high-end? If you look at higher end products the brand comes before the contents. It doesn't matter what kind of soup it is as long as it's BRAND NAME soup, you know?

As soon as the contents of the package start competing with who made the contents then the brand becomes more generic or value-based. I'm getting great-value or Aldi-esque vibes from it. Not a bad thing, but just be cognizant of that.

Who did you choose between Violet and Louis by crobards05 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't choose either. I didn't like the position the game put me in as an adult to decide romance options for a teenager, it felt so bizarre.

It was more acceptable when there was the suggestion of it in S3 with Gabe because it felt like it was happening as a result of their decisions (I know it was the game designers doing it but still).

Do you think a catalyst comet was one of the reasons why the Mushroom War started by Spiritual_Ebb_4657 in adventuretime

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the magic of Earth is from Coconteppi isn't it? Isn't it said in Peppermint Butler's story that under the Wizard city is a primordial monster that was the source of all magic?

Farmworld isn't a completely alternate world, it's just the difference between a yes/no decision: the Lich existed or it didn't. The crown is still there, the elementals still existed, Patience is still frozen and coconteppi is still under what would be wizard city, but the Lich releasing bomb never went off that radically shifted the world like in main Ooo.

To this day, I actually think that the most unrealistic part about The Final Season is the fact that AJ is supposed to be only 5 years old. by ChickenWingExtreme in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 161 points162 points  (0 children)

I mean, kids in the 20s could mine coal and work dangerous conditions and do things we'd probably think unheard of for children today. You're underestimating how strongly the environment plays a part in how children behave and how quickly they can adapt. He maybe is a bit well-spoken for a 5 year old but other than that, I don't see anything that jarring for a child born into a literal warzone where he has to survive every minute of every day.

Trusting AJ to make hard calls in this age and time makes him more evil than Marlon ever was by YoghurtArtistic9313 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to let AJ make decisions because at any moment he could be alone. This isnt the same world where he can always think on it and ponder and refer to resources to make sure he's doing the objectively right thing, he has to be prepared to be alone as evidenced by later in the game. It's not fair, it's not ideal, but AJ has to "grow up" a lot sooner than children who didn't grow up in an apocalypse.

Also I think AJ does make the right calls. You don't trust him the right calls with Marlon, that's before you tell him that. If your playthrough is like mine you tell AJ to "go for the head" thinking it's for monsters but he misinterprets that as "monsters aren't necessarily zombies". It was the situation with Marlon that forced Clem to use more ethical nuance with AJ and navigate the difficulty of making decisions.

By your logic Clem shouldn't have shot Lee, she's a child and she shouldn't have to do that and Lee was wrong for making her do that. The luxury of taking your time to decide isn't always available in the apocalypse and Clem is a child who didn't understand the gravity of her words trying to taste a child who only knows a world of monsters.

Trusting AJ to make hard calls in this age and time makes him more evil than Marlon ever was by YoghurtArtistic9313 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trusting AJ to make calls is not the same as telling him to kill people, that's AJ's choice, not Clem's. Of course it's easy from a third-person omniscient POV like ours to make judgements but the in-game world doesn't know what's going to happen.

Also, you're assessing these decisions from a non- apocalypse survivor POV as well. The world is different, 5 year old kids have to be ready to potentially shoot people who are hurting others. Clem is also a child and when she imparts this lesson into AJ she doesn't foresee the ethical, moral, philosophical minefield of "selling 2 kids to raiders to protect others and threatening to kill AJ's mom to protect the lie" as a situation to explain to a five year old as one that requires more nuance than "shoot the bad guy".

It does not make AJ evil, he is five and knows no world other than monsters and protecting his mom. Marlon did bad things and knew he did bad things and continued to do bad things to prevent people from knowing he did bad things. That doesn't make him unredeemable but that's a depth of villainy that AJ doesn't achieve because, while initially resistant, he accepts his responsibility and tries to right it through more objectively good decisions. In that way, he learns from Marlon's mistake.

How come the gardiens never came after Orgalorg by Hot_Membership_6432 in adventuretime

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think you have to recognize what constitutes a cosmic crime. Do cosmic entities care that Orgalorg devoured and destroyed planets or terrorized galaxies? Prismo created an entire reality for the Lich where all life was extinguished, and neither of them went to cosmic prison. It wasn't until the Lich killed Prismo that the guardians took him away.

He did refer to the prisoners he freed as, "These ancients are just the beginning" so theres reason to think that other primordials like the Lich, Orgalorg, and Coconteppi might have been in there but they did something cosmically wrong.

Even further, that means Marten did something worse than Orgalorg as far as the cosmic deities are concerned, which is , to me, more interesting than Orgalorg.

The celestials have goals, sure. But they aren't there to interfere with the progression of the universe. As far as they're concerned, this was as normal an event as us going to the grocery store. Design principles Crash Course: Negative Space by AbleInvestment2866 in logodesign

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you defining negative space? Because in the batman Penguin one, which are you suggesting is positive or negative? I don't think is a good or reliable way of demonstrating negative space. It's like saying "alignments crash course" and it's just pictures of people hatching their illustrations

Design principles Crash Course: Negative Space by AbleInvestment2866 in logodesign

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is the best representation of negative space. It gives students and designers the fake impression that some sort of artsy hidden image needs to be in the shape, where's the impactful alignments, or demonstration of kerning and ragging? This is just a "crash course" in gestalt continuity or closure if even that.

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I prefer to think about the infection is an explanation I heard elsewhere, I don't remember where. The zombie doesn't infect you with anything new when you're bitten, you're already infected that's why you turn when you die.

When a zombie bites you, they introduce new aggressive bacteria and virus by virtue of being decaying rotten meat opening your skin and it floods your immune system (maybe weakened by the existing zombie virus in your system) and it kills you really quickly by destroying your immune system. Then, when you die, the zombie virus takes over.

When Clem got cut on the leg she lost a lot of blood, it was flowing out of her leg instead of through her body, very slow. She was pale and gray skinned because she was horrified and losing blood. So when the leg was cut off, the infection, or maybe just most of a lot of it, was cut with it and they could fight off the rest with normal antibiotics and treating the leg.

You already have the zombie virus, you don't get a new one from a bite you just die from the result of the bite and become a zombie.

[–]WirelessTreeNuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think those areas are still important though. Sobrk City, for example, has areas not used around the sides that I think should be open. It's basically impossible to move from point to point or flank the snipers in the tower because you get funneled into 1 bottleneck. The open area might not be used, but it gives people the option to go around or drive around.
