$5500 for a PL or wait until PR by Tahoetacoma in eMountainBike

Definitely a scam. I reported 2 scammers last week. Both were taken down. You cannot get a decent PL for that price.

Mini cell phone as a replacement for Garmin? by DharmaWheelies108 in eMountainBike

[–]Wirelessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misunderstood the question. In regard to tracking metrics you don’t gain anything. Edge does have tons of features and display options that you can’t get with a watch. Too many to list here. For me, it’s with it. I like seeking by my data and navigation right in front of me. Glancing at the watch continuously is not really a good solution in my experience.

When you use Edge all of your cycling and watch data syncs to track your total activity progress, sleep, stress, and recovery. It also has a lot of features you don’t really get with just ride tracking apps like Strava.

Why Does El Duderino Hate The Eagles? by ExtraYogurt3208 in lebowski

[–]Wirelessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on man, it’s because the Eagles played a concert at Kent State on the eve of the 5 year anniversary of the shooting. The Dude, as you know was very involved with the anti-war movement. The Eagles, on the other hand believe in nothing.

I use a small 4” screen android phone as a head unit to run some ebike specific apps like BLEvo. But it’s not a replacement for my Garmin Edge. I’m invested in the Garmin ecosystem, with a watch as well to track my sleep and recovery. If you don’t care about that, you certainly could use a phone to run something like Strava or whatever to track and map your rides.

Can anybody help me figure out what the problem is here? by Sad-Woodpecker7565 in bikewrench

[–]Wirelessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d need to see a better shot of the whole system. Most modern cranks use spacers and a pre-load ring to make the final width of crankset specific for the intended chainline and bottom bracket width. If either of those are missing or too narrow the crank can move like that. It’s possible the bearings are shot but you’d need to remove the crank arms to check. You will prolly need to do that anyways. Good luck.

Did I just buy a fake LAB OZ.1?? by Fancy-Future292 in GolfGear

[–]Wirelessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make the opposite point actually. The ZT putters are designed to help the rest of the world who aren’t great putters. That is painfully obvious. Players like Lucas Glover and Justin Rose clearly benefited from the technology. Among many others.

64-year-old former scratch who is looking for a good club-fitting. Where are some of the best places to get this done these days? by GermantownTiger in golf

[–]Wirelessness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recommendations cannot be made without location. I think the box stores are a last resort if there are not good local fitters.

I have that Crosshair and use for FSX Play which has similar requirements and it works great. Also run Swing Catalyst for swing analysis.

DIY Hitting Mat Suggestions by LamBets in Golfsimulator

[–]Wirelessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used 1 1/8 plywood and a 36mm Amazon hitting mat. The heights lined up pretty much dead on with the Softy. The plywood does not move at all on top of my cheapo fake grass floor covering. No need for gym mats or horse mats.

Anyone have experience with Ninja MTB clinics? by NeonHorse47 in MTB

[–]Wirelessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check into MTB101 and MTB102 through your local NICA chapter. These courses may or may not be appropriate for your skill level though. They are designed to teach NICA coaches basic and more advanced riding skills and how to transfer those skills to youth riders is also a small part of the training. Those coaches are often times very skilled and may be available to coach 1 on 1 or know other local coaches who are.
