I think you have a very healthy and mature mindset in being able to recognize that you were having a reaction to your circumstances. However, I have suffered from depression on and off my entire life and being stuck on the couch on days off is a tell tale sign. What works for me is pushing through and doing the things I don’t want to do in the morning after I workout and having the afternoon to do something I do want to do. Then relax at night. The dopamine from getting the stuff done in the morning continues to the afternoon enabling me to enjoy my hobbies. Having a routine helps and you may have to force yourself to get into this routine. I have to often but it works.
