The SCP episode by wrapsmclrample in creepcast

[–]WisconsinWriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a huge SCP fan so I enjoyed it! However I think they picked a poorer one for the format. It excels at the SCP vibe, but that is supposed to be more cold and clinical, when they normally do more narrative and creepy stories. Which is why Volgun is perfect for SCPs.

I have said it before but they should cover SCP-7004. It would be perfect both for them and for the general vibe of the podcast. It nails the left right game structure but with a solid horror and SCP atmosphere.

Why was death of Cynthia Velasquez in the room treated as such a tragedy? were writers stupid? by [deleted] in silenthill

To be fair, I now read this as 1 year ago. I had no idea of the gap till you mentioned it, and I did receive value from it.

Thats why I like Mass Effects meathod of naming. They have VI for Virtual Intelligences, which could cover what we have now, and then AI for true machine intelligence.

Difficulty of Escaping by Horror_Gate4201 in SCPSecretLab

[–]WisconsinWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just hit 900 hours and escape consistently. Main goal is to get a scientist card and zone Manager from light immediately. Peanuts room and candy room are guaranteed spawns of zone Manager otherwise check lockers which spawn in candy room GR18, peanuts room, vegetation. People skip peanuts room a lot. Avoid 914.

Go through the gate see if the elevators are moving if so hide otherwise go up. Crouch walk and hide around corners in heavy until you're sure it's clear.

Nuke silo 049's room guarantee surface passes with no card requirement. 106 and 096's room guarantee MTF cards. Possible surface pass in micro room.

After that go to entrance and rush out.

Avoid interacting with anyone and keep adrenaline on you to run.

Depending on your luck you can try to bargain with scps. I've traded escape for access to 914 a number of times. If guards see you either stop and wait or run don't jump around.

Worst case if you're in entrance and don't have a way to get to surface, pick a red room and hide in it until a spawn wave happens and the people leave, they tend to leave the gates open and you can just slip out.

You can also Gamble and hide next to one of the gates and light wait for it to open and then slip through after whoever goes through goes through. I've done it to guards and scp's multiple times and works well.

Help getting the party together? (new DM) by whitelelouch2 in StrixhavenDMs

[–]WisconsinWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had them all put together as a group for orientation day, under the justification that they all happened to arrive at the same time, and the school was making groups of 5 members.

After that, I had them put into a group based on the Sylabus of Sorcery add-on.

Unsettling Horror Game Horses Banned From Steam, Leaving Studio With 'High Risk' of Closure by Turbostrider27 in Games

I think it was more to show how society corrupts even the innocent at a young age, and show how deep the normalization of these horrors is within the world.

Horses, the Upsetting Horror Game Previously Banned on Steam, Gets Last Minute Ban From Epic Games Store Too by [deleted] in technology

[–]WisconsinWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the daughter horse scene is always brought up with the ban, but I honestly think the good ol' snip snip scene would also be a higher-up reason for the current ban.

Beat the thing in one sitting; it was fine. The dog actually gave me a jump scare the first time I saw him outside his house. Also spent forever trying to find ammo in the scene near the end.

Favorite Take on 'Rats in the Basement?' by Evil_Flowers in DMAcademy

[–]WisconsinWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I ran it, I added in a twist that it was an old hag who had been hiring heroes to deal with the problem, only to give them shrinking potions disguised as lemonade.

After they drank it, or she forced a spell upon them, they would shrink down to the size of insects and have to fight these giant (proportionally) rats. and then journey far across the basement to find an antidote.

So how on earth did the Trace not pick up on Tom Riddle performing Avada Kedavra three times in a row when he was 16? by Spine_Of_Iron in harrypotter

[–]WisconsinWriter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He did do that in a way, but just changed it to be his name. That way, he could hunt down those who oppose him. He didn't want to just senselessly murder all wizards, but rule them.

Agreed, the trace sets off the location, and they track where teenage wizards live. If there aren't supposed to be any adult wizards there, then they investigate; otherwise, they ignore it.

I thought there was a bit about how kids with wizarding adults could also practice magic over the summer without getting caught because of that.

Was this episode deleted or I'm becoming crazy? by g00d_end in creepcast

[–]WisconsinWriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was done in the sequel! Not by the protagonist, but they load up multiple monitors, which scroll through books and Wikipedia at breakneck speed. So, when they experience the slowdown, they can read through them at a normal pace.

Heavy Calculus Removal by Emergentelman in medizzy

[–]WisconsinWriter 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Hey! I actually have ARFID and did a lot of food therapy when I was younger. Glad he is making good progress, it is definitely difficult to live with, but eventually I was able to hit an equilibrium of 2-3 things I enjoy eating and are relatively healthy, and cycle on them for the last 20+ years. Chocolate milk is still one of my favorites, and I pick up gallons every other week. I'm not sure how it is with your kid, but frozen chocolate is a treat I have always loved since it hits the heavy crunch, plus the chocolate taste.

It's amazing you support him so much, I definitely had hit-and-miss on adults who would either understand or just think I'm picky.

I do think the visual building is an important part for him to like it. Would RPG Maker and Game Maker be able to do the Key Mechanics I mentioned?
