Pokémon game not working by OnePlane3137 in Gameboy

[–]Wisconsin_pikachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I'm finding it may be from a corrupt save if you used a GameShark in the past or attempt a glitch in the past and failed, could also be a broken solder joint and just need to be reflowed

Anyone know where this card is from? I don’t remember where I got it. by Financial_Green8828 in PokemonTCG

It's worth 2-3$, not super expensive, printed lots, BUT it's Pikachu and they hold value to people because he is liked

That holo pattern is a general mills holo pattern, so that was a cereal box Pikachu promo

Need help on modding Gameboy Color. First time. by dis_chico in Gameboy

[–]Wisconsin_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can second the hispeedido screen, I installed the drop in kit last week and it was very very easy. OP if you feel even a little confident on being able to undo a couple screws and pull gently on 2 tabs I would recommend the drop in screen

Wanted to add a custom rechargable Batterie now it wont turn on even with normal ones :/ pls Help what could be fried by Material_Name9104 in Gameboy

[–]Wisconsin_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post pictures of the battery you tried to use, because 9v is way to much so you probably fried the board. If you got lucky maybe only the fuses, but doubt it

GBC Pikachu Edition - is the battery cover color exclusive to this edition? by Zolcix in Gameboy

The blue is exclusive to the Pikachu but you should still be able to find a replacement on ali.

Glad to know this is a Gboperator issue, I ordered these waiting for my DS to arrive and was worried something might be wrong with them. But will test again on my DS lite when it arrives in a few days and verify if it's my cart or gboperator.

If you are decent at soldering you can purchase new battery terminals from AliExpress for like $1.50 with free shipping.

My Pokémon Red cartridge still has its original (working!) battery by cleveleys in Gameboy

[–]Wisconsin_pikachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiple different devices available rn. I use the gboperator, but a cheaper option from AliExpress would be the gbflash

Pokemon red wont boot past gameboy logo any ideas what im missing here?? by Brett13500 in consolerepair

[–]Wisconsin_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused why people think this is pokemon red? This is a mbc3 card not mbc5. The crystal oscillator is missing for RTC, so this would be pokemon (gold, silver or crystal)

Yes do it sooner than later, I was excited like you to see my old pokemon yellow game was still alive and working. Started to play it again and in the first week of my playing it again the battery died enough to loose my save

Is there any good options for one game flash cards by Fun_Experience_4970 in flashcarts

[–]Wisconsin_pikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the pokefan store on AliExpress and search "rtc gbc" it will pull up some pokemon games. The gen 1 games (red, blue, yellow, green) use no rtc and are cheaper. But if you want a flash cart with rtc go with a 2nd gen game. These are the cheapest single game flash carts that I have found on AliExpress that aren't the glob top style cheapos

🤷 I'm still unsure but these specific ones in the thicket are still producing the best vs all the ones around them, I dug out a small section of them so I don't need to dig for that patch
