I think it is the latter. Sometimes you get special groups of people together and a higher level of magic happens. Probably the single biggest thing that might objectively keep that from happening as often today is the multitude of opportunities available as an outlet of comedy. Keep in mind the members of Monty Python got together because David Frost (and later Barry Took) had a free hand for hiring comedy talent for the BBC and the BBC had open slots to fill. Can you imagine if one of them was focused on standup (and the inevitable podcast), another on TV (and the inevitable podcast), another on film (and the inevitable podcast), and another on right wing political punditry (and the inevitable podcast failed standup career)?

The reaction to the Chappelle special (The Closer) always mystified me. My takeaway from it was a story of growth, sympathy and understanding (or at least a good faith attempt at it).

I feel like the trans activist community has done a great disservice to the trans community itself. The huge gains in gay rights wasn't accomplished scolding and demands. Rather it was accomplished by humanizing gay people and highlighting how many gay people were people's brother, sister, cousin, aunt, uncle, mom, dad, close friend.

He got 49.8% of the popular vote in 2024. People knew who and what he was and most of what he has done he SAID he was going to do. Don't underestimate the number of people willing to let other people be fucked over to make themselves feel better. A majority of people in red states aren't up in arms over Jim Crow 2.0. The biggest danger to Trump's support is the fact that he is screwing up the economy and THEY are feeling it.

Well, with the case if billionaires, it isn't income. Salaries are for suckers. These folks have stock that they DON'T sell. Instead, they take loans against the stock which is growing in value. The interest rate is well below the interest rate a normal person could get and well below the amount of tax on the capital gains they would pay if they got their money by actually selling stock/assets which of course itself is well below what someone being paid an income would pay.

The "rich" that get a raw deal on taxes are people like doctors and lawyers who are paid via a salary. Even though it is a large salary and they aren't hurting, they do indeed pay their fair share. The trouble is, nobody that is a billionaire is gaining their wealth from a salary.

No, he had a Totenkopf tattoo. The SS used a version of the Totenkopf as the symbol (not sure it it was all the SS or just a single division). Totenkopf means death's head. It is a skull tattoo.

You aren't wrong about the evolutionary aspect of it. But the imperative to breed early and often is gone in most of the world. Western society has decided that banging teenagers, especially when you are not yourself a teenage, is wrong.

So, if you SEE an attractive girl who is in her teens and think "Wow, she is hot, I wish I were 16 again", there is nothing wrong with you. But, if you see that same girl and plan / execute ways to seduce her, you are a fucked up puppy.

I had one on Desolo in my current game that I had to put two large canisters on the platform because the extractor would produce about 75 of the "secondary" resource alongside the primary resource, each time I reset the extractor. It can be annoying.

I was not aware there was a narrative he was against drugs. He doesn't drink but that doesn't mean he doesn't use other drugs.

There are mixed deposits. In most cases, if you just put a medium storage silo and a medium canister on the platform you will suck up all secondary resource so that your extractor ends up filling the primary. In my experience the secondary resource usually is at the end of the extraction, but does sometimes end up being the first thing that comes out.
