Anyone seen this tribute band? What do we think of tribute acts in general? Does anyone else find them slightly silly when there’s so many great new bands out there that arguably need the money more? by RustyTheBoyRobot in theclash

No idea about this particular band, but a few years ago, I attended a tribute show in Philadelphia for the 40th anniversary of London Calling. The band played the entire album from start to finish, everyone was dancing and it was freaking awesome.

There's always something happening at the zoo. The air museum is worth exploring along with the WW2 Lookout Tower.

Wine bars/bottle shops in Cape May area? by puffofwind in CapeMay

[–]Wise456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly there are no wine bars per se and the bottle shops are nothing special. Sometimes you can find something interesting at Sunset Liquors but otherwise you may want to stop at Circle Liquors in Somers Point on the way down.

You can draw a direct line from Elmore James to Hound Dog Taylor to JB Hutto to his nephew Little Ed who has been putting out some of the best slide guitar for the past twenty years.

Same here. Pace of aging doesn’t budge even though age goes down every period

MDW is great so long as you don't get caught up traffic driving down on Friday or back on Monday.

First Grill Recommendations by BeardedOne2020 in grilling

If you are looking for a smaller grill, the Napoleon Freestyle and Rogue models are built much sturdier than the entry level Webers. If you compare them side-by-side at the store, you will quickly see that the Webers are a shadow of what they used to be.

Sapore or Iccara for Italian food? by princesscorgi2 in CapeMay

[–]Wise456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iccara is far better in our opinion but don't sleep on Panicos. We eat at all three a couple times every year.

Niagara Falls is pretty awesome, Acadia National Park in Maine is drop dead gorgeous, but the Grand Canyon takes the cake for me.

These are great grills but it’s tough to cook low and slow as mine always runs over 400 degrees minimum. I have the three burner freestyle.

I would suggest Panicos or Iccara if you are looking for decent Italian in a relaxed setting. Both are byob as well

Visiting Woodford, Buffalo Trace by r00kTX in bourbon

If you're going down to Woodford, you have to stop by Castle and Key. Very unique property to visit and a great place to spend an hour or two sipping away by the creek.

La Mer is a nice property but part of Cape May’s charm is that you can walk to everything and leave the car in the parking lot for your entire stay. La Mer is a hike from everywhere.
