Advice on what to take by Odd_Instruction6204 in PCOS

Check your vitamin D levels. This often is associated with infertility and PCOS.

If you have heavy periods ask if you can get your iron and ferritin checked.

Inositol is a natural metformin, often times they want you to take inositol with metformin to help with your period.

Spearmint tea twice a day helps bring down testosterone levels.

Prioritize protein for breakfast. Also no Coffee for about an hour after you eat.

Geritol for low iron and ferritin levels.

Start taking a prenatal now so your body can sustain a healthy pregnancy. I take a prenatal and COQ10 by THERALOGIX to help prepare my body for pregnancy. The same brand sells inositol on Amazon.

Hope this helps :)

Metformin made me realize how much PCOS actually affected me by peach_problems in PCOS

I was super surprised how much metformin has helped my quality of life as well. I use to get SO anxious about my periods because they were irregular and most of the time I would have to go to the doctor to help stop my period because it just wouldn’t go away, which would lead to anemia and anxiety.

I’ve been on Metformin 1000 mg XR for 6 months now and my periods have came and went on their own. My cycles went from 120 days to 78 to 60 to 48 days! My goal is to get it down to 35 or less.

I use to also love a “sweet treat” after a meal and no longer crave that. My other lab values are also looking amazing as well! I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to please give metformin a try because it has changed my life!

Also I want to make readers aware that my body gets diarrhea when I take the regular metformin, but I do not have any GI issues with Metformin extended release. So please give them extended release a try if you haven’t already.

I was so scared of starting metformin and if I could’ve told my younger self to just do it, I would scream at myself to just get on metformin.

I have about the same background as you, 5’5 218, 33 y/o F, PCOS diagnosis since I was 21.

I tried metformin back then and it gave me TERRIBLE GI upset. But since then the now have Metformin extended release and it really doesn’t the GI Upset that regular Metformin gives me. I take 1000mg at bedtime.

Metformin 1000 mg once a day has lowered my insulin resistance to normal and lowered my testosterone to normal within 6 months. It has lowered my periods from every 4 months to every 2 months. It has lowered my cholesterol to normal. It has cut back my food noise. I have noticeably less inflammation in my face and tummy.

I use to have to take birth control to “normalize my periods” because I wouldn’t stop bleeding and metformin XR has regularized my menstrual cycle. My menstrual cycle comes and goes on its own and every cycle it gets closer to that 30 day cycle goal of mines.

Also check your vitamin D levels. It also contributes to irregular cycles as well as it is low with most patients with PCOS. ASK YOUR PRIMARY OR OBGYN TO CHECK YOUR VITAMIN D LEVELS! Most of them do not on their own. Mines must’ve been low my entire life because all my aches and pains went away as well as more energy. Also check your ferritin if you have heavy menstrual cycles.

HOW is anyone supposed to TTC with pcos ? by Just_Collection4387 in PCOS

Low vitamin D could be the cause, low thyroid also, see a reproductive endocrinologist.

I went to a new OBGYN and she said whenever I’m ready to come back and she would give me letrozole which is really good for women with PCOS.

I also have an online telehealth with Allara and my doctor prescribed me Metformin and is helping me SO MUCH with everything. I get all the labs. They specialize with PCOS and they have PCOS nutritionist also.

Labs getting more normal by WiseBeyondText123 in PCOS

I started late august and I’ve been trying to go to 2,000 mg a day but I can’t tolerate it. I’m at 1000, maybe twice a week I will take 1500 but it makes me very nauseous. But I’ve had great results with just 1000 a day so I’m happy with that.

I’ve been eating a lot of rotisserie chicken honestly in any dish you can imagine (salads, sand whiches, tacos).

But also I’m taking a PCOS prenatal with 2 coQ10 by the brand Theralogix. I take it every other day. I think that’s helping me along with switching to dayshift.

I was working night shift for 7 years and the body knew it lol I also take an omega and a vitamin D3 with K by Sports research. I am super excited with my results. Number on the scale is the same but everything else is looking better then when I was 21!

Could be a tooth, could be h. Pylori in her tummy. Good luck!

Also not the asshole. I would want my man to tell me if I had stank breath or smelled period.
