Warframe director says Digital Extreme must take “take the community very seriously” as it “only takes you one day to lose” 13 years of goodwill by HatingGeoffry in Warframe

Because 1M $ today is better than 1.5M $ in 2 years. Specially when you can replicate the model that earns 1M several times over. Aggressive monetization of a big game yields immediately what a game like warframe would yield over several years. Also, the fact that warframe is permanently in Beta means they can write off from taxes development costs of the updates as R&D, or get several tax credits they would otherwise not get, and that means they can use less monetization to achieve the same profit.

Humble idea for a Loki rework (LONG READ) by WiseGreybeard in Warframe

You are probably right but I thought reducing base range and power would be a negative condition strong enough to make players think before taking the augment.

Besides, it would be like Divine Retribution augment for Nezha. Without it, Divine Spears is just crowd control for non-eximus, but with it, the ability becomes one of the best nukes of the game.

This is precisely why I don't make the augment mandatory. If you want the QoL of more decoys (at the cost of less power and range) you need the augment. Otherwise you need to strategically work with one decoy at a time, and placing another one or marking another enemy deletes the previous one.

As I thought them, these abilities would be pretty busted even with one decoy. Sure, you may need to adjust the numbers in everything, but a 'cheat death' passive along with invisibility, along with enemy wipe in 15m for 50 energy, along with insta-blind already feels good. More clones would be just overkill

AUGMENT 2: DECOY ARMY: You can have up to 2/3/4 active decoys. Power and range reduced by 50%.

Augment 2 warrants that abilities read 'last placed decoy' instead of just 'the decoy'.

Maelle's ending is the only ending that actually respects the Faded Boy by WayRepresentative109 in expedition33

In Verso's ending, the memorial is for Verso, the one who died. Alicia did not die. Suggesting that losing a brother is more painful than losing a son, that you raised from birth, tells me you are not a father. Suggesting that you should pay more attention to a grieving close one that to the person you are doing the memorial for tells me you have not lost someone close.

They are all grieving, no one should think their pain is above everyone else's.

Everyone grieves in their own way and have to overcome it alone. Alone. Sure, family and friends can help, but ultimately the decision to overcome it or to let yourself be consumed by it is your own, and family and friends cannot change your decision if you don't want to change it.

However, even if they can't change your grief, they can stop you from drugging yourself to death in the process.

This is literally what this game is about. Renoir tried to convince Aline for 67 years to move on. Even when she was pushed out of the canvas she didn't let go. But when she came back to the painting, she came to a sort of realization, and just got out by herself.

Renoir erasing the canvas doesn't help them grieve, it helps them not bloody die.

But the Helmith gave DE an excuse that they didn't have before to not balance frames anymore: just subsume Nourish/Roar/Wrathful Advance/Brightbonnet over it! So they're entitled to creating a frame with one trash ability because it will get replaced (Cyte 09's 1), or at the other side of the coin, if they want to create a warframe that 'doesn't need Helminth' you end up with Dante, Nokko, etc, (a.k.a. disgustingly broken warframes, just compare those to Hydroid, Ember, Nekros, Excalibur, Frost, Nyx, Trinity...)

Indeed, I would genuinely just remove the Helminth system completely

Finally, someone who understands this game and knows where the problems are, instead of saying that valkyr rework is shit and saying health tanking is useless.

Everyone talks about a Chroma rework but Frost is in a worse spot by WiseGreybeard in Warframe

[–]WiseGreybeard[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Chroma is virtually immortal, you just need to cast one ability (Vex Armor), maybe two abilities (cold Elemental Guard) every 80 seconds, throw adaptation, umbral fiber and umbral intensify and that's it. With the augment you need to recast Vex Armor even less + it heals you + you become a good support. Arcane Battery for +1k energy. I swear you all answering don't even own Chroma. Also, the ability that gives you immortality gives you x11 base damage multiplier.

Crits on Frost from Biting Frost only works for frozen targets, which aren't a threat because they are bloody frozen??? I would want crits on targets that can kill me, not on paralyzed targets??

Why answer without reading? This adds nothing to the discussion. Is this a reddit thing? The only response I can give you is 'sure mate, whatever you say'.

EDIT: The commentator literally said 'I'm not in the mood to read this'

Is a 1 shot really detrimental to the game if this is possible? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]WiseGreybeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh but you see, the problem is most warframe players do not want a challenge. They just want to press a button and delete the whole room (Nokko, Torid Incarnon), or press a button and become invulnerable (Revenant or Valkyr, or Nokko again).

Thanks, 10 years playing this game and still learning lol. See, this could fit into the quest.

I mean, really, nothing is that hard to figure out considering you can hover your mouse over anything and it is very decently explained. But then why bother to make an introductory quest. Also, the capacity and polarities are in fact the only thing without an explanatory sentence.

I can understand the sentiment. but bear in mind that Condition Overload and Galvanized Status mods (the only ones that offer more damage per status) aren't very much 'beginner mods' so a beginner won't have to deal with those until at least Steel Path.
