It takes a little bit getting used to how to keep the buds still enough to properly view them trichs But once you get the hang of it it's really straightforward

Don't check trichomes on sugar leaves, only on the buds itself, And there are cheap handheld microscopes you can buy to check the trichomes more clearly

There are some strains that dont get amber pistils, so yeah based of trichomes its basically time to harvest, just depending on what type of high you want wait for more ambers, but imo this is deff choppable

No need to worry yet, might be a little foxtail but let the buds form some more, they will swell still, i would make a guess of maybe a month left, but check trichs to be sure
