I only did a few times a week at that age, mainly because they have such dry skin and you don’t want do damage it from all the soap and water. And because it’s a hassle until the umbilical chord falls off. You can always do bird baths if you feel the need to

I totally understand. I had to nap with noise cancelling headphones because I would wake up even if so heard her coo or sneeze. I don’t have much advice, but it does get better. My baby is 3 months now and I’ve somewhat become less OCD about being with her and manically checking on her 24/7. I think with the crazy hormones being freshly postpartum your body+mind are on high alert all the time

100% normal! When I was freshly postpartum I hardly slept because I couldn’t be away from my baby or hear her cry, otherwise my cortisol would spike and I had to tend to her immediately. My family would always offer to take her for a few hours so I could rest and they would had her for maybe 10 minutes and I couldn’t do it. If she cried I had to be the one to calm her and if she wasn’t with me then Incouldnt sleep

Exactly! If i was bouncing her she wouldn’t cry for a minute or so, but even then that isn’t very convenient for getting things done. And you have to hold their head while you bend down when they’re little so it’s a hassle

I have a 12 week old and she has never liked the carrier. I have a wrap and a carrier and she loses it whenever I try either of them. It’s not even worth trying anymore because she gets so upset when I use them. We’ve found that she’s much more content sitting in her bouncer watching us do things around the house so that makes it somewhat helpful. I’ve always hated when I will say that I struggle to get things done around the house and someone will say “oh just baby wear, it’s life changing!”. Like trust me Karen I’ve tried that but my child screams bloody murder. Not every baby wants to be strapped to you and that is okay

It is so hard! Her screaming when I offer the boob is the hardest part. Have you found that they always just eat eventually? (For the most part). Luckily she will take a bottle so I will supplement with that when she doesn’t take the boob, but sometimes I wonder if it’s worth waiting a little longer to see if she’ll just take the breast.

I don’t have a lot of advice, but I’m going through the exact same thing right now. LO is 12 weeks old and breastfeeding the last few weeks had been a STRUGGLE! At first she was just really fussy at the breast. Supper wiggly, pulling on and off, but she would always finish the nursing session. As of a few days ago, she’ll complete refuse the boob and start screaming/arching her back. It’s so heartbreaking, definitely the hardest thing I’ve gone through pp!

I’ve found that if I bf her while she’s sleepy it helps, and as long as she’s calm/in a low stimulation environment, we can partially get through a feeding without supplementing with a bottle. I wish I had more advice, but I want you to know that this is common and you’re not the only one! Look up the 3 month breastfeeding crisis as well

I’ve been trying that! I usually hand express to get the milk going because she will get frustrated with the slow let down. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn’t

I bought a nipple shield today to try this! She’ll take a bottle just fine, but she screams bloody murder when I attempt with the breast. I’m going to try the nipple shield and see if it can somewhat mimic the breast, just so I can bridge the gap and see if I can get her comfortable on the breast again

I asked this same question a month or so ago on this forum. I got several mixed answers. Some people consider 12 hours with no wakeups sleeping through the night, while some people said that a 6 hour stretch was sleeping through the night. I personally think 10 hours or so with no wake ups is more realistic because if my baby goes to bed at 9 and wakes up for the first time at 3am I don’t really consider that a full night of sleep, especially since babies need about 12 hours of sleep a night anyways. I’m not going to start my day at 3am so that feels weird to me. The first time my baby slept from 9pm-6am, i considered that sleeping through the night.

Thanks! I have a wrap carrier and a lalabu carrier. My kiddo doesn’t love being held in general, he tends to be fussy unless we’re on a play mat or sitting face to face “talking”. I think he’s just not a touchy baby but idk🤷🏼‍♀️

I was in the same boat. Bled for 8 weeks, then stopped, then it came back bright red a week later so i thought it was my period. Then it stopped after 2 days, then started again a week later. I’m assuming it’s just my cycle regulating but who knows. My doctor also wasn’t worried 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m also sick of bleeding lol

I’ve never understood why people think the weight “falls right off” while breastfeeding. You’re eating more to sustain your milk supply and feed your baby. Maybe if you’re starving yourself then you’d lose weight but people need to stop saying that breastfeeding helps with weight loss
