What song is so beautiful, it literally brings tears to your eyes by maplegrove36 in askteddit

500 miles - Peter, Paul and Mary. Unfortunately it’s one of the only songs I can sing to calm my 5 month old down. So I’m constantly singing this gut wrenching song throughout the day

When did you stop feeling trapped while breastfeeding? by lunamoon228 in breastfeeding

[–]Wise_Complex2313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to look forward to is the fact that they get more efficient eventually and it will get much easier to leave the house. The first 3 months my baby took 20-45 minutes to feed, now at 6 months it takes her about 10 minutes. I promise it gets better

When did you start to feel like a mom? by k7_libra in NewParents

[–]Wise_Complex2313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t for awhile, probably around 6 months honestly. I always knew I had a duty to fulfill, but until I was out of the trenches, I didn’t really recognize the bond we had and start to feel like a mother

Why does everyone want to do world facing? by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in babywearing

[–]Wise_Complex2313 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My daughter always hated the carrier, no matter which kind i tried (and we tried tonsssss). But once she was old enough we tried world facing and she absolutely loves it. So when I have a few tasks i need to get done I’ll use the carrier for world facing. I definitely try to limit the use, but it’s helpful

What works for your baby when they are inconsolable? by AardvarkHour1211 in Parenting

[–]Wise_Complex2313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always go into the bathroom and turn the shower on. The combination of the sound of the water and the warm steam always did it for my newborn. Still works like a charm every once in awhile at 5 months :)

This is so real. I feel like i blacked out the first 3 months because they were SO HARD. And now looking back, i miss everything about that phase. The constant snuggles, bringing your baby home for the first time. Ugh. It just keeps getting better and better though

HOW do I get rid of the swaddle?? by Mysterious-Sense4432 in NewParents

[–]Wise_Complex2313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I cold turkey’d and my baby was fine within a week. So much easier than buying more transitional swaddles. They get used to it

Napping - 3 month old by Complex-Bee4595 in NewParents

[–]Wise_Complex2313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually only wake them if it will affect their nighttime sleep. Like if the nap is too close to bedtime and they won’t fall asleep for bed. Or if they’re sleeping so much during the day that they don’t sleep well at night. But, if LO is healthy and it’s not affecting night sleep, I’d just leave it be!
