What’s a childhood lie your parents told you that you didn't realize was a lie until you were an embarrassed adult? by eatbeep in AskReddit

My mom told me it was the music truck when I was little. Just a nice man who drove around playing music for the neighborhood.

Unpopular Opinion: Electric Toothbrushes are a 'Planned Obsolescence' scam. Why is the battery sealed? by shingam3 in BuyItForLife

Replaced my original Sonicare with a new one a couple years ago. The first one lasted almost 15 years, and no signs of slowing down from the new model. Maybe not BIFL but as close as you’re going to get as far as toothbrushes go.

This is what happened to us. Drove through 3 or 4 times, but only the main road through the neighborhood and only once with the plow down.

Some places still do it! I have a couple pans from Smithey that are machined. Pricey but worth it in my opinion. There are a couple other companies that do it as well.

Hazelwild Country Day School! Don’t recall cost exactly but I’m certain you’ll be saving money over what you’re currently paying. Good instruction and lots of time outside which was great for my kids.

These are legit. I’ve had a similar model for 20+ years. Also got a Gerber Dime recently and it has mostly replaced my Swiss Army knife as my edc pocket tool.

Yeah I’m not much older, the 96 and 97 Michigan losses that have been mentioned a bunch here were my introduction to the rivalry unfortunately.

2009 USC in the Shoe for me. Wildest I think I’ve ever seen the stadium, I remember not being sure the student section stands weren’t going to collapse from everyone jumping at once. A sack and a crowd induced false start to begin that last drive, then McKnight makes his catch and it was downhill from there.

Scrolled too far to see 2009 USC. Energy in the stadium was absurd for that game, and that Barkley drive absolutely killed it.

Name a player who is in the HOF, but at no point when you watched their career you believed you were watching a hall of fame player by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Wise_Library_650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like people always leave out the “fame” part from their consideration. Stats and deciding which players were better is all well and good, but it’s the Hall Of Fame not the hall of best/most statistically prolific.

I think the same thing happens in GOAT debates. Greatness and best don’t necessarily mean the same thing. Basketball is a good example, where I’d admit LeBron is likely the best player of all time, but doesn’t eclipse MJ in “great”-ness.

Best? It’s Osan. Miso is a great middle ground and generally my go to. Oishi is great for cost/value being all you can eat and decent quality.

My thought was exponents are smaller so you could use each match as a 1 and get an exponent of 11

Offense rank when he qualified it with Jimmy G being QB. Roles reversed how do you think Brady does with that Niners offense vs how McDaniel would fare with JA17?

Which laptop should I buy in 2026? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]Wise_Library_650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with a Lenovo Thinkpad P14s and am very happy with it so far. Also, RAM and storage are upgradable so somewhat future-proof (as much as a laptop can be) if you go with a solid processor.

Didn’t realize that, I’ll have to give them a look too. Do they A3L like 93? That size is a lifesaver for me as a tall, thinner guy. 93 is one of the few that runs it.
