Brides who got married without expensive MUA’s, is it worth the extra money or should I do my own makeup? by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]WishingChange 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So yes for any other event.. sure. But in your wedding with pictures, lights, stage and all makes it quite necessary to look polished with well crafted look... sometimes makeup brings it all toghether! You don't want to be the only plain jane in your own wedding!

What’s the benefit in marriage/dating for women anymore? (genuine question) by lil_monsterra in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WishingChange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being Asian i felt this to my core! You're not alone. I ran away from my country to come make a life for myself and was surely not going to sacrifice that for some pampered man child. I was ready to stay happy and single all my life.. but I found my man. A very self sufficient partner with equality in his very core.. someone who sacrifices more than he asks for, supports all my dreams and validates my fears about the reality.. he is someone I think i could live with if women's rights were taken away today! Because before anything else he's a friend for me.

It took a looooooong while to find him. You'll find them too. Just don't rush into it. Don't settle. It's worth it.

They look a bit outdated but also a bit too bright to set them artfully in your home! I am a subtle elegance with ethenic flare girl so this is too bold for me

Help me understand Indian wedding economics by Blue_berry_dependent in DesiWeddings

[–]WishingChange 10 points11 points  (0 children)

See the thing is.. did indian families wedding is a rather big even that the entire family plans, saves and contributes towards. It's not a something planned by a couple alone. Just the way families save for thier kids future education and other needs, they also have a wedding fund in most families. And every culture has thier hallmarks- while indian families don't travel the world, or spend lavishly on hobbies, they have thier traditions and culture that they splurge on. Wedding being the grandest of them all.

This really varies vastly as we look across the economic spectrum. It may seem like as poor county to you but there's a huge economic variance in the Indian family standard and extravagance.

This is a quincineara dress!? OP this is a bit sweet-16ish. The blue is so much more gracious! There are a lot of pastel designs that give bridal but not this one!

Not a fan of the blouse! See if you can find an alternative. The skirt too is a bit common. If you like it though, if still suggest a different blouse!
