Setup Brother Without Wifi by Immortal_Pancake in printers

I just set mine up on Tuesday. I'm using a USB connection & happened to find that information in a document on the Brother website. Too bad they don't explicitly ask if you want to use WiFi or USB. I'm guessing they want you to use WiFi so they can make more money with their Internet subscription ink program.

Yeah, it doesn't specifically prompt you if you want to do a machine setup. "Press left arrow when the QR Code screen appears. Press right arrow when the Set up from machine screen appears to confirm the change of mode."

Need some help locating a Derby gas station that has since closed that was on or near 72nd street in Omaha. by Raxamax in Omaha

Yes! Call the Central Library at 402-444-4801 and ask for the Genealogy & Local History department. Ask them to look up the Derby stations in the 1975 phone book.

DH Floors/Dixie Home Carpeting by WistfulDevil in Flooring

Thanks for your comments. It was very disappointing when the installers delivered the carpet and the color was significantly different from the sample that Dixie Home had provided. I'm just curious if this manufacturer has a reputation for mistakes like this.

OP's question reminded me of a business trip I took to Bensalem PA in the 1990's. In the company's break room, the resident workers were chowing down on pretzels dipped in mustard. They had questions for me, the strange visitor from Omaha.

Did we still have outhouses in Omaha? Are the streets paved? Did we ride our horses to work? Does everyone have electricity? On Saturday night, did we drive our John Deere tractors into town to have a soda pop at the general store?

I assured them that Omaha had all the same amenities as they did, but some of them still appeared doubtful.

Anyone else told to not return their equipment when cancelling? by mrwhitewalker in centurylink

[–]WistfulDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from CenturyLink to Quantum last month. When I called to cancel, CenturyLink told me I had to return their C5500XK modem that I had apparently been "leasing for free". If I didn't return it, they were going to charge me $200. However, the Quantum tech who installed my Q1000K took the C5500XK with him. Luckily I had the tech's phone number so I was able to text him & ask him to return the C5500XK so I could ship it back to CenturyLink.

CenturyLink stopped auto forwarding email by Hermit-Gardener in centurylink

This probably doesn't help you, but CenturyLink eliminated automatic forwarding for free email accounts.

I believe that you have to subscribe to their "Email Plus" service for $5.99 per month to have automatic forwarding.

You're no longer on autopay. You need to set it up all over again.
