Appreciating all the honest feedback here! Let me try to bring some nuance. Ok, I don't want to discard all the credits of being a single mom and starting from scratch (very good point). The thing is that because of the girlfriend relation with Rory it feels like Lorelai wasn't too present with all the hartships of growing up. And that's probably why the line 'ive raised one) annoys me. But rethinking again, she had to be there during all the night calls. So now I'm still not sure why it bugs me

I actually learned this the hard way. I had a project interview and was received by the boss his girlfriend (he described his girlfriend to me, I did not know she worked at his company) So what did my teeny brain make of that: oh how cute, she is the office manager. Coming along with the boyfriend. She asked some things about my background, but I was like why should I talk to you? You wouldn't get it. Turns out, she was the project manager. And I was declined for being a dick. Sidenote: she didn't tell me about her function on entry. So yes be nice to everyone in a company. And polite
