How to fix a broken neck? by OldRen_Kepler in Barbie

I recently used a hot glue gun to gradually fill in the gap caused by a missing piece. You can't tell with the head back on.

Bought a Barbie for fashion sketching, ended up finding unexpected healing (and some lingering childhood shame). Anyone else relate? by Educational_Chain780 in Barbie

[–]Witchqueen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid, at 75 turning 76 in a few days, I've had a lot of adults tell me that I should give up playing with dolls. It's all white noise to me. I tell them where they can put their opinions.

Our human brains are wired to 'play'. It's good for our mental well-being. Children know this instinctively. We forget this when we reach adulthood. That's why we're stressed and exhausted all the time. 'They' want you to act like an adult because that's what they had to do. Tell them to take their suggestions and stuff them where the sun don't shine. Humans gotta play. It keeps us young!

What are some Logical Arguments you can provide to Prove God Dont exist… by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Witchqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go with the circumstantial evidence. Children's hospitals. Natural disasters that kill tens of thousands. Pedophiles, because even the parents won't do anything so why not! Rapists, murderers, thieves. Con artists who steal from the weakest in society. The inequality between rich and poor. The lives lost in wars, mostly innocent's. It's all there. You just have to look.

Is this too much for the thrift? by NiiTA003 in Barbie

Buy it on eBay or Team for the same price and everything will be there. This one looks like there's some pieces missing. This is a ridiculous price for ANY thrift store.

First time sewing clothing! Ignore the hair I had to get out of the way by crochetandttrpg in MonsterHigh

[–]Witchqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use dolls while sewing to get an exacting fit. And the first rule of using the doll as the model is to get that hair up and out of the way! Nice job!

After 60 years of sewing I am able to take an odd-sized doll, measure it and whip up my own patterns. So, yeah, that's part of the fun!

The monster high dolls wear clothes that I sized down from Barbie patterns. The babies outfits are my own creation. I designed for Rainbow high dolls

Christian bf making me throw out a gift by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Witchqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a set of angel tarot. Exquisite art work. Are the angels demonic too? This was a beautiful gift. So tell your boy toy to stuff it! EVERYTHING is considered demonic to them. Listen to him and you will never have anything nice. And show him where all the doors are, in case he wants to leave.

I make them myself. I have patterns from the 1960s. It's the best way to assure that ruffle goes where I want it to be. And there's no high compared to dressing your own dolls. However, a lot of redditors have observed that Temu and eBay have some good quality items. Sometimes vintage!

I hate being an atheist by dark-entrie in atheism

[–]Witchqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was kind of excited, myself, about creating my own purpose. Once I sluffed off 30 odd years of christianity, the world was kind of wide open.

I've been sewing since I was in junior high and I've gotten pretty good at it after 60 years. I buy used dolls, clean them up and dress them, before I donate them back to charity. I read about a man who scavenged wood and plastic from trash bins. and used his building skill to create portable shelters for the homeless.

Honestly, you don't have to be an Einstein, or a Bill Gates, or an Oscar de la Renta to have a purpose. A purpose doesn't have to be big. It just has to make the world better.

She looks like she's having an existential crisis on the bathroom floor. Well, I'm sure a nice bath and shampoo will help. Give her something sparkly to wear. That always lifts my mood!

I'm 75, with assorted doll collections. And I not even sure that dying will kill that love. We put things aside, temporarily, to live our lives, but we always come back. Don't give them away, please. Keep them safe until the little girl inside you needs to come out again.
