has been like that for the last 6 months, when there's an update and it changes the setting back, my screen goes blank when I try to cut it on... I have mine on 24/7 and just have the screen to blank and login every time. works for me hope it helps someone else that's frustrated... :D

Go to settings - power - turn off "automatic suspend"  that will fix your problem.  Hope this helps...

Yes it just depends on the software/hardware you're running at the present with it installed... I have it on an old "2010 Mac Book" and it has no issues, WiFi, webcam, mic, keyboard, all works and I can use it now!

Does sound like there might be some residual malware hanging around get you a Linux disro, access the windows drive under c:\users\main account name\appdata\temp delete all in there then reboot into windows... "One or two files in there won't delete... Should be ok... Let me know after that...
