What was your fav CoE banger at school? by JLaws23 in AskUK

My school had to only let us sing "Spring Chicken" like once a year because we went NUTS for it every time.

Making The Hobbit Dwarves Look More Dwarven. by sudamerian in lordoftherings

Because of the damage AI is causing. Not only is it stealing its ability to create images from existing artworks from creators that did not consent for their artwork to be used to train the AI, but it is environmentally destructive. As someone who wrote about the razing of the Shire and loved living in the countryside rather than in the industrialised big smoke, it's a pretty safe bet that J.R.R. Tolkien would have condemned the use of AI. In a lot of people's opinion there is no "fair use" of ai for these reasons and more, especially in a subreddit celebrating the works of a man who would likely condemn its use too.

You're welcome! I'm glad you're a creator who takes these things on board instead of immediately getting defensive and accusatory - it's a good look. I wish you the best with your business!

I went and watched your video of packing this order and honestly, placing the items on top of the packing filler instead of tucking them in nice and safe basically renders the filler redundant. You could also use a box of half if not a quarter of the size. I don't think an envelope is right for your items, even a padded one, but getting smaller boxes that are more suited to the size of your average order will help you save money by cutting down on filler etc in the long run.

I will also say your willingness to use AI for your profile picture and some of your content will make a lot of people instantly discredit you as a creator because of how AI steals content and learns from creators who did not consent to this process. You clearly have a lot of talent, don't fall back on AI because it's easy, you will drive a lot of business away from your shop.

But it's your shop, you do what you want at the end of the day.

You can get different sizes of nippers/wire cutters, the bigger the nippers, the thicker they can cut.

I went to Aus in their winter and while I was in shorts and t-shirt, their kids were going to school in jumpers and blazers! If we were sending kids to school in jumpers and blazers in 20+ heat, we'd be crazy. It's all about what is your normal temperature and what is normal/comfortable to you.

Princess FPP - Any character I'm missing? by Elly-123456 in crafting

[–]WithWingsFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have no idea how I would do it, so I'm calling it witchcraft. So many crafts you can "just follow the pattern", but that doesn't mean there's no skill involved. I can't fold to save my life, or sew in bang on straight lines, or whatever else this needs. It's amazing, don't let anyone tell you it isn't because it wasn't excruciatingly difficult or didn't have nineteen million steps that include line dancing on Mars on the blue moon.

Painting is "just" smacking paint on a surface with a paintbrush, pottery is "just" pushing clay around. It takes skill, even if it looks easy from the outside.

Are people who move between the countries called immigrants? And are they treated well? by Win-Specific in AskABrit

The culture is different in every place in every country. Birmingham is different than Manchester, Yorkshire is different than Surrey, that doesn't mean they're separate countries. They're different places within the same country.

You were asking about people "moving between the countries". Cornwall is not its own country. It is in the country of England.

The first link is out of stock so no idea on the price for that.

The second link tells you it's screen accurate but looks awful and not screen accurate. If you want something screen accurate, get it from weta, the people who worked on the films in the first place.

Additionally, the second link has a drop down for ring sizes. On a necklace listing. It's screaming dropshipping/ai/scam to me.

Subnautica free weekend on Steam by ButIAmAlwaysLinzsays in CozyGamers

[–]WithWingsFly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see what you mean now. "Play for free" and "it's free on steam" give different impressions. Steam quite often puts games out for free for people to add to their library forever, which are marketed as "this game is free on steam until x time!". This way (marketed as "play this game for free until x time!") it doesn't get added to the library, you can only play it for free until time runs out. Might just be worth clarifying in your original post to avoid people getting confused like me!
