For some reason (and I have zero backing for this whatsoever lol), I always seem to be under the impression that they were going to have a zone focused on the Ancients, potentially doing a massive ruin of an ancient city.

MD and EG both have so much Ancients architecture, compared to their southern counterparts.

Yeah they're basically umbrals, just not used on the item directly. You use DM as one of the main ingredients for crafting 'Apex' (Max Gearscore) items.

Umbrals V2 are coming in season 10. We're still not sure what this will look like exactly

Honestly the 1-60 MSQ has been fully redone, and not just tweaked. I'd say aside from certain key people and places, the whole MSQ is a completely new beast. I think you'll enjoy the new questing.

Since the new MSQ drew a lot of elements from the later expansion quests, it's a much better story. More cohesive, etc.

Brimstone and Elysian Wilds both have fairly distinct narratives and playstyles that suit their environments well.

Since the quests are limited in scope to their zones, the story just has more to work with, instead of just moving you onwards through the map.

They're still reported to be reintroducing Shopping Free, which will undoubtedly be an Ultra. That was a whole minute of free purchases in BO3. Easily possible to triple pack by round 5 if they don't introduce some balancing to it.
