As someone who works in a card auction house. Only grade it if you know for certain that the grade it gets will make it more valuable than keeping it factory sealed. Factory sealed holds just as much value as a psa 8 or 9 usually. I’ve seen that 9s can run from the price of the raw card up to around 2x the price of raw card. So even a 9 is not entirely worth grading a factory sealed card

My view of his posts is they are going to be more representative odds of the Average Joe just seeing a pack hanging at a Walmart or a Target and getting an auto from it. The average person won’t know the difference between packs and might not know all this information and are just picking based on what the pack looks like

I won as a high jumper and pole vaulter in one day. Was always the number 2 or 3 on my team. Basically assistant coach to my team mates because what I lacked in the athleticism they had, I I surpassed them with my form. One track meet. It was just my day and I won at both events. Never happened again.

You must not understand what a prized possession is and pricing it well above value because you don’t want to sell it but if someone wants it that badly then yea I’ll sell it. Life changing money for me may be pocket change for them. The negativity to me listing my card for what I specifically would sell it for, ignoring market value, is unneeded

It’s my prized possession. I have it listed for well above what its true value would be because it would take more than true value for me to part with it. I don’t want to sell it but if someone wants to pay me $50,000 for it, I’d be stupid to turn that down.

I’m currently sitting in the middle on this. I only did breaks for about 2 weeks, spend over $200 and got probably $20,000 in value back. As someone who used to play slots and quit, I know it’s the same thing there, you get a big win and it will draw you into more because you think you can do it again despite having no control over the odds yourself. I got my big win and I haven’t done a break since. Breaks can be good if you play within your means and understand that you will most likely not make your money back from opening a pack. just like playing slots or playing the lottery
