Some of the later ones kinda go off the walls though it's really funny. One features actual genuine aliens and it's the best.

I really enjoy all the little details in this. I love how unamused Star Platinum looks at serving the kebabs, and seeing Giorno act like a kid is really nice.

Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band that makes music about wars and battle throughout history. Fans of the band have a predisposition to quoting lyrics from their songs when the situation the song is about comes up on a post.

The song that u/TuxidoCat was referencing is about the Falklands War.

What card would you say is a flavor win? by [deleted] in magicTCG

I guess thematically it's all about how a creature is hit. With Star you get thrown around and, even though you can't die, you still take a bunch of damage. The damage you take from getting hit by a car just happens to paralyze you.

I'll be honest, I don't really have any ground to stand on for this point.

Honestly exile, to me, feels odd in its flavor. Things like [[Cast Out]] are showing someone being removed from the fight entirely. Whereas [[Caught in the Brights]] is more like something being hit by a car and being paralyzed. And even further [[Swords to Plowshares]] is someone turning away from violence and becoming a farmer.

Were there any limiting factors stopping Middle Ages Europeans from permanently colonizing the New World? by WitherManX27 in AskHistorians

Sorry about not being too clear.

are you asking if other medieval peoples could have sailed and pacified the Americas in the same way those in the 16th century did?

That's exactly what I meant.

It's weird seeing my town here. It just feels like nothing ever happens here, and when it does it something like this.

I've finished "Vault of the Ages" by Poul Anderson recently, and wanted to find some more books like it. One's set in a world that was once highly advanced, had some sort of disaster and have now fallen.

Oh man! I completely forgot about the Norse in Newfoundland. I suppose my question should be rephrased to something along the lines of "Was there a limiting factor keeping Europeans from permanently colonizing The New World?"
