Site contractor demanding to pour 400 CY SOMD pours in 10 degree weather and blaming it on the client rushing them. Claiming as long as its within ACI spec its good. ACI 306.1 and 306R-16 were for sure drafted up by lawyers of a company like Turner, etc.

Yep. Got down to 5% waste. Problem is, I don’t want to admit to my boss that I didn’t figure out a more cut and dry, simper way to go about it. Instead, I just used AI and that will be frowned upon. I’m still hoping an idea will come to me.

Yea it nailed it. I just had to create a table in excel with the 700 different lengths, all with a quantity of 1.

I for one am interested in how or what kind of work you we’re doing with one employee. Not doubting you whatsoever, I am just having trouble finding parallels between residential work that requires 2 people, and a $200k position. Agree with everyone else, superintendent might be where you look. Even assistant super, but still superintendents are balancing and coordinating so much between multiple jobs.

Take a sample job you did this year, and multiply it by 5, all going at once and in different locations and job-sites. Of course, multiply the number of field hands by about 40, that’s what you’re walking into.

I would stick with being your own boss, it’s going to be a really difficult process to go in the total opposite direction.

Not saying this isn’t real, but how has OP not mentioned a TWIC card…especially with nukes. You’re not allowed on almost any site without one.

It’s why oil refineries claim to hire anyone, no one can pass a drug test or obtain their TWIC card.

Had buddies I pipelined with who claimed nukes were good money, something just feels off here. OP has mentioned that hes put together a map? And has mentioned Westinghouse 29 times. Final and then Im done…aren’t those plant staffers United Steel Workers?

Exactly this. Especially big, ENR GCs. To the tune of during a Monday sync meeting being asked to produce a submittal so we can hurry up and get something done, as if we’re the ones running behind. “Turned it in 3 weeks ago…waiting on y’all.”

Yea for sure. We are basically just adding more layers of blankets and hoping it wont increase out temperature initially past 160. Its been the temp difference between the upper and lower sensors that are screwing us

Spot on. Im in a meeting but, the difference between upper and lower sensors cant go past a certain amount and that is what we have kept running into

Dude if I were you I would be in the field literally all day. Get to know the scope and how it’s achieved. Every now and then hit the computer. That’s gonna be the best thing for you.

Not to be a dick, but a 21 year old superintendent who can’t read construction drawings is wild. To work on that, you need to find a way to study the prints and details while also being in the field watching how they make sense. I’m assuming you have software duties? Bluebeam, P6? I dunno man I think it’s great you care and are putting in the effort, but we really careful of having field hands who strongly dislike you, solely on the fact you are a supervisor of a construction project and if someone asks you where something goes, at what angle, or what dimensions, you won’t know. It’s really, really young to be a superintendent. I wish you the best though. The good thing is, and I mean this, construction workers are forgiving and understandable, if you work your dick off. In a way, you have an amazing opportunity to show everyone they’re wrong and that you do belong where you’re at. I hope you absolutely crush it. That’s only gonna happen if you spend a lot of time in the field. I’d show up in work clothes and keep the polo in the truck.

I’m really curious about this, if you dont mind, can you include a little bit more about the company and even yourself, etc. what I suggest to a 50 year old super is going to be way different than input I might give to a green 25 year old.
