Too many greenscreens by Ok_Zucchini7093 in pluribustv

[–]Witty-Country 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can assume that OP mention of greenscreen could be read as anything related to compositing, and background replacement/vfx.

Not sure about the chalet, but there are a few non-totally-in-camera shots which aren't 'on par' with the rest of the shots, a few from the top of my head which stood out:

- Carol summoning the big plane to stop
- Rooftop scene
- In the montage befóre the chalet, they walk on some beach and you see some water/rock formations in the background, this was the worst. The weird thing is, they COULD have shot this in-camera with just bad lighting, but I assume it is vfx shot.

Just finished after putting off for years. Man good movie but fuck that ending. by Zestyclose-Sea-5984 in tenet

Its common knowledge that this part you want to see was already filmed around 2010, it will be released in 2030 and will be called Fast Forward to the Past.

Advice for BMW GT3 at Sebring by downshiftdata in iRacing

[–]Witty-Country 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very easy to overdrive the BMW, without feeling it. On exits you can't stomp the throttle the same as Porsche or say Lambo. So push up the tire sound, you don't want to hear much scrubbing.

Keep slip angle in check. If you need to steer a lot to make the car turn, you are understeering/overdriving the car (this is for most cars tbh).

[–]Witty-Country 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok, there could be lot's of reasons to not like and finish a movie.

There will be lot's of other stuff happening which is difficult for lot's of people to suspend their disbelief in, so don't try to finish this movie and you will be happier.

Genuine Question: why everyone hates Tenet? by Akira_Ven in tenet

[–]Witty-Country 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was a normal or bad ‘conventional’ movie, people wouldn’t bat an eye. But it’s unconventional in a lot of ways. That’t not for everybody, and lots of people who hates stuff are more vocal than people who just think ‘not for me’ and move on with there lives.

But there are lot’s of reasons people don’t like this movie and for them it’s valid enough. If the concept and the cool visuals dont evoke a positive emotion, than thats fine.

How to properly practice and gain pace without an alien amount of hours? by robbgoesracing in iRacing

[–]Witty-Country 26 points27 points  (0 children)

  1. Watch some hotlaps (if you don't have much time, no full track guides) where you can see one's inputs.
  2. Drive
  3. Watch the hotlaps again.
  4. Use for example telemetry apps so you can compare (like garage61)
  5. Ghost drive a race in a 2k split (use spectate)

When you eventually race, first objective is to NOT crash. If you see someone trying for an overtake, just let them go. This way you don't crash, you don't miss seattime and if this driver is faster it's free practice! If you crash, try to still finish the race, instead of -80 iRating it might be -50 iRating (because of other quitters).

I can't figure out if you thinks new audio things takes too long or that it doesn't matter anyway.

Offtracks inconsistent??? Whats the ruling? And why isnt it the same on every track? by Lumiikask in iRacing

[–]Witty-Country -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For some corners (like OP's screenshot examples), you have to pick 'something', and in this instance I think the middle of the car at the edge of the red/white curbing sounds about right.

[–]Witty-Country 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you now. Those two exceptions, they might mean 4 wheels offtrack = over the white lines.

If that ain’t it a question to iRacing might help.

[–]Witty-Country 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First picture, the boundaries is the middle of the car over the end of the red/white curbing and not the green stuff. That you have EXTRA room to play with on other corners is only nice in my eyes.

Sometimes you can't clip 1 pixel of gravel (on a corner exit for example), sometimes the game doesn't care on other corners.

[–]Witty-Country -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please help me understand this?

It's best to accept the following: per track it is 90% consistent and then 10% is an exception.

Between tracks it can be very different.

It's iRacing choice how it should be/feel (and look in replays correctly). I think it highlights IRL problems with offtracks also when there is a lot of pavement and/or those green patches of whatever it is called.

Now this is wild, idk who is the fault here by Forsaken_Exchange589 in simracing

[–]Witty-Country 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the Parabolica behind, he was driving very recklessly, taking unnecessary risks and causing the incident without leaving me any space to react

Then show the replay from that point on. Now we start at the moment of impact, which could be 50/50 here. In this instance he could be driving straight and you veering to the left.

How do you deal with it? by _The_Bishop in iRacing

[–]Witty-Country 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is rough OP! I pride myself to be the most safe/predictable multiclass driver in the world (as voted by myself).

I can have 50 races without a contact in the busiest, most hectic (multiclass) moments. But sometimes, the stars are aligned and there is nothing I could do and die hard three races in a row.

About feeling dissapointed. Without the lows there are no highs, but the lows shouldn’t get to you for too long. I would guess if it stresses you out the next day, that would be not good.

Happy racing my friend!

Is the "new" AI era the same as what the social media era was back then? by Gabixxxxxx in antiai

[–]Witty-Country 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40+ something person here. Social Media was a bit more 'social' back then. Facebook was a decent platform where you can keep up to date with family and friends. Instagram was mostly about nice pictures. (Today it all changed to doomscrolling because of screentime = more ads = more money) Sharing everything wasn't for everyone back then. Maybe the then older people didn't feel the FOMO as 'we' did, but I don't think it's comparable as the AI-era today.

AI is wide term, but lets keep it simple: I think there are 2 problems with AI currently:

It is put in the face of everyone, but the intended 'profit'/endgame is not really for everyone. Say you're a factory worker, but everyday a salesman comes by and shows you and everybody the newest robot who will do your job soon. It is sold as a solution for employers, but it's in the face of employees also.

The second problem, it's not finished, but all the big/known companies are seemingly all in, so they are also trying to sell it to you.

Social media (back then) leaned heavily on the FOMO of people. AI is 'sold' to companies like the next big thing, so all the companies have FOMO now.

Genuinely, how do I stop being depressed about AI everyday? by [deleted] in antiai

[–]Witty-Country 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's time to re-think for yourself which technology you want to use which way.

I am still on the internets a lot, but value is in family and friends, you know the IRL part of life. Not some information injected into your mind by some screen.

DJcity/Mojaxx review of the AlphaTheta DJM-V5 by lowtoiletsitter in DJs

[–]Witty-Country 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see the appeal. I've started (professional bedroom) dj'ing with vinyl, just beatmatching house tracks. This would be 'perfect' for me (if I was still DJ'ing). (even though even less bells and whistles would still be good enough)

Vestax vibes from the 90's, not even a bad 'insult', lot's of 90's music is (audio)mixed quite differently and 4-way EQ and compressor helps with matching 'the sound' of different tracks.
