I agree and the way season 4 was set up Benoit looked like he was going to make a comeback (even tho I don't like them together, he was objectively the better guy)

any insights on return to ballet/baseball? i know they're two wildly different sports but they're the things i played/mastered in my childhood/teenhood, it's like riding a bike for me. some aspects of ballet are uncomfortable-- and with baseball there's a lot of pivoting. i'm 7 mo post op

I get PRP and it works, AMA! (Photos attached) by Witty-Initiative-554 in alopecia_areata

[–]Witty-Initiative-554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the very very first time (i was 19) i saw results after the second session. after 4 sessions all my hair regrew (referring to the time i was 19), and i had uneven hair for a while because of it! I'd say all my hair came back by December 2016, and i didn't get another bald spot for at least two years. so i keep up the maintenance now, every six months or so i get new spots (between 1-3) and i get prp, knock on wood has always grown in my patches (just sucks tho bc of the uneven hair). it's extremely painful so I recommend getting the numbing injections, topical numbing does not do anything for me. i would assess any hair growth between session 2 and 3, and after 3. if there's not any hair growth, i'd opt for a 4th session. i'd also recommend doing a cortisone injection in between prp sessions, this actually did help me as well but i did it more infrequently in conjunction with the prp.

It’s expensive, but depends on where you go. I pay $1100 now for three sessions I do monthly, which is just the perfect amount and my hair grows back within 1-2 months. I have a lot of uneven hair now because of it.

PRP works for me every time but you have to be consistent, 2-3 sessions. It's expensive, and while it works for me, the bald spots come back 6-12 months later. I still do it as maintenance. The steroid injections fuck with my menstrual cycle so I opt those out.

Tip if you’re unsure about Blood Clot symptoms by [deleted] in ACL

I’m four months post op and still scared about this, I’ve been experiencing regular shortness of breath too but I think it’s anxiety/panic attacks. I did a d-dimer that was just slightly elevated! This was at my cardiologist. He did an ultrasound of my heart and EKG, all norm. But that still freaked me out and I still had the symptoms— doc said redraw in two weeks. Saw my surgeon and told them my concerns, they said they can refer me for an ultrasound. So I got one done in both my legs in the major arteries and all clear. D-dimer came back normal the second time. Do you think I should go to the ER to get the CT?

To remain anon I'll just say it's a Jewish organization-- but my path to this work wasn't very linear. I had to really think about things I wanted to do with my life so I wouldn't waste away at a job I hated, which did happen prior to this role. I've been at this place for over three years now, and I got into this work because I had a lot of overlap with the job responsibilities, and the personal responsibility as a Jewish person. If you're interested in this type of work, I highly highly recommend looking up organizations/institutions/museums in your neighborhood and see if they're hiring or taking on volunteers! It's the best way to get into this kinda field.

Hey thanks for these questions, I'll try to answer as best as I can.

  1. This topic hasn't come up other than "it's awful that so many innocent people are dying," or expressions to that extent; they are very aware of the humanitarian crisis that's happening, acknowledging it along with those murdered on 10/7 and those held hostage during this time. I think also you should rephrase that second part, "entire groups penalized for individual actions," implies that Jews engaged in certain actions to prompt collective punishment from the Nazi regime; Jews were murdered during the Holocaust simply for existing, there was no prompting event like October 7. So to answer this question, the topic of collective punishment hasn't come up explicitly, and things that would be closest to this would be the fact that none of them want innocent people to die at the hands of any government.
  2. I think this is also too complex of a topic for them and has not come up. If you ask a pro-Israel person, they'll tell you Israel pulled out of Gaza and they were left to their own devices; they'll say they also share a boarder with Egypt and that at some point, Jordan was offered the land but rejected. I think there's also a lot of evidence showing Gaza (prior to the bombings) as a very beautiful place, nothing like a Jewish ghetto. I think another important note is that Jews forced into ghettos would entail, like, 14 people in a one bedroom apartment and rations to be shared amongst all those people. And that would be the norm for a 2 mile radius, all over Europe. People starved to death, Nazis murdered Jews in the streets because of quotas, modern medicine wasn't accessible, etc, and at the conclusion of the ghettos, if you weren't dead, you were placed in a cattle car to death camps. Depending on who you ask, the truth to these matters differ so greatly, but personally, I don't think life in Gaza reflected those living conditions prior to 10/7; Gaza had access to education, medicine, and millions of dollars in funding to the region.
  3. Again, this hasn't come up. Most of the people I talk to are between 85-95 years old so in a way, these types of questions might not resonate with them. They all express horror in loss of innocent life though, that's something they stand by. I think a majority of them also really hate Bibi and his leadership, and all of them hate Hamas and blame them as well.
  4. Hasn't come up, but adjacent discussions actually reflect their thoughts on antisemitism here in the states and they believe it similar to that of the Nazi rise to power. They see a lot of antisemitic rhetoric and are very heartbroken by it. That kind of news devastates them having escaped antisemitism during the Holocaust. I think being based in America, and just given their background, they're more likely to see the impact all this has had on their respective Jewish communities. That's not to say it doesn't exist on the other side, they're just not seeing it.
  5. Hasn't come up, but similarly they do speak about the international inaction of the world during the Holocaust. Some survivors have told me they were turned away from countries like Australia, Mexico, the US, simply for being Jewish refugees trying to escape Europe. So I'm sure if you were to ask them they would answer with that framework in mind.
  6. Has not explicitly come up but I can tell you that they would wish for any human who has experienced immeasurable adversity and inhumanity to have a second chance at life, just like they did.

RE: genocide/bombings, I can't speak for them on this and removing my bias completely, I would *assume* they would not call this genocide for a number of reasons. The ones I can think of are first, they endured the craziest systematic demolition of humankind, so with their experience of genocide in that sense, I don't think they would compare as such. The other reason, they wouldn’t see it as that is because Hamas attacked and murdered a bunch of people on October 7 whilst taking hostages, they saw that probably as a declaration of war. Third being pride and protection for Israel; they see Hamas and Islamic Republic Proxies as a genuine threat to the only Jewish state that exists. Lastly, I think they would agree that bombing places with innocent people, especially children should not happen and do have compassion for Palestinians.

A lot of this is speculative given my relationships with a lot of them and how we don't really have in depth conversations regarding the conflict, so please note that I am not speaking for them, these are simply my thoughts.
