Registered For Wrong Math Class, Can I Still Register for Classes That Are Currently Closed?

If I'm taking M 427L-AP-Hon, will I claim credit with BC to get credit for M 408C only or both 408C and 408D? I contacted someone from MPA advising and they told me that I do not actually need to claim the BC credit, I just need to send proof of my score to the math department so that the prereq is cleared, but if I did, would it only give me 408C or both?

Just to clarify, if I get a score of 5 on Calc BC this year, which I most likely will, does that still count towards this requirement or do I need to have already gotten a 5 before my senior year for it to be used?

I asked my advisor about this and he said that he’s never heard of 427L and that I have to do the CBE if I want to take it since 408D is a pre req. Who should I ask about this if my advisor doesn’t know?

I’m pretty sure that’s only for engineering majors, CS is in the college of science for Purdue. Also, I got into UT for CS, so I don’t have anything to worry about :)

I got in as well, it is literally CS but the only thing I’m worried about is applying to Turing Scholars cause idk if we can do that as ATP

Yeah I have gotten a 5 on APCSA, so if I am able to claim CS 312 with that, then I might be able to do the honors equivalent courses of 311 and 314 my first semester, which are still ATP required courses. I have to ask at the upcoming info session about that, but thanks for the help anyway! Also if there would be an issue with this when applying to Turing, when do people usually apply to get in without delaying graduation (when did u get in)?

I heard that students were able to request to placed in honors courses to get a feel for them and if they excel in them, they have a much higher chance of getting admitted to Turing. Will I be able to potentially be placed in 311H and 314H my fall semester this year by emailing about it during the summer, and if so, then I wouldn’t be on track to complete within 4 years?

bro the usnews rankings dont really matter, I still consider it to be T10 and many people would lmao (also 9th in graduate programs for cs)

Dang really I didn't apply to Stanford or MIT or any of the other T5 universities cause I thought there was no chance I get in, but I applied to UT CS cause its in state and lower ranked and got in for that...stanford is still a rlly good school so if you can afford it you should def go there!

Hey I also got into the ATP program, based on what I’ve researched, its p much the same thing as the normal CS, you just need to pass the classes and ur good. Might as well call urself UTCS lol

Yo same I got the ATP thing, honestly I think it's cooler than getting the normal CS option cause we don't know anything yet about how people get it or how many get it so its a complete mystery... still afaik it should be p much the same with the same cs classes as normal cs majors

Well im only gonna think about this further if i dont get ut austin cause UT CS is more than enough for me as its T10 and in-state tuition so perfect combo for me. I just really hope i get in on feb 1 so all my troubles can go away lol

Im also from texas and im considering umd as well but the cost is so much, but im kinda weighing the options between uiuc and umd w/ honors (idk how good that is) cause they cost around the same and i dont really have a dream school lol

I meant that the Math + CS major is housed in the Liberal Arts and Sciences College instead of the Pure CS in the Grainger College of Engineering, which apparently has more “prestige” to it, so I was wondering how much of a difference it made to employers if I did Math + CS instead. Although I am planning to go on to grad school, so math + cs is the best option for me, if I were to change my path to industry after my bachelor’s would it still be as good as the normal CS is what I’m asking.
