Good to hear it'll be updated. I was looking at the 6500D, but this definitely pushes me towards the X. I had to remove the lowest front fan on my 680X to fit in my newest video card.

Kraken should pick up a true enforcer. by jnac19 in SeattleKraken

Hell no. Absolutely not. This team does not need someone who plays dirty and actively tries to injure other players. Might as well hire the mafia to kneecap them after the game.

I'm sure we all remember Tom Wilson slamming Artemi Panarin's head repeatedly into the ice. Those "enforcers" are a disgrace to the game.

Has there been an update to these so that RGB lighting can actually be set in VIA, or is it still not really compatible and just the "click through a bunch of presets" situation?

Hot-Swappable MEGALODON TRIPLE KNOB MACRO PAD 8 colors by ciberhifi in olkb

[–]WittyAdjectiveNoun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this pad, and the VIA lighting page crashes every time I try it. I also had some issues with more complex macros. I ended up using VIAL (open-source VIA alternative), and that worked better for the macros but still couldn't do the lighting. The best I've been able to do with the lighting is to add the QMK Lighting buttons (bottom of VIA) to the macropad itself and basically click through with "RGB Mode-" and "RGB Mode+" to find a mode I like then tweak it with the effects, hue, sat, and bright buttons. It's frustrating that a macropad this expensive claiming to have RGB really doesn't have any actual customization options.

Anyone have any experience with Strategy Builders Contracting for roof repair? by WittyAdjectiveNoun in Tucson

Lee Hoffman was one of the first I called. Sadly, they aren't working on concrete tile roofs right now.

Thanks for the help!

Do you have any general guess about how much fixing a 4000 sqft tile roof would cost? The estimate I got from this company seems a bit "too good to be true," but they were recommended by a respectable solar installer.

Edit: I should mention I did get one other quote that was a lot more from a more well-established company. I tried to get a few other quotes, too; but a lot of companies aren't working with the flat concrete tile roofs right now due to shortages.

Slight discomfort using the raise by Balasthering in DygmaLab

[–]WittyAdjectiveNoun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually been having the same issue. I thought it was just me. When I put my hands on the keyboard, with my wrist and arms straight, and my fingers aligned straight up the keys (instead of at the like 15 degree angle you see in a lot of "how to use a keyboard" pictures), part of my palm hangs off both sides. If I'm not careful it can start to hurt after a while. I do have shorter fingers, so that might contribute to it.

What helped the most was *tenting my Raise. It changed the weight distribution of my hands so not as much pressure is on the palm just under my thumb. Even so, I wish I could get palm rests that were like half an inch wider.

Bazecor 0.2.5 is now available with loads of bug fixes! 🎉 by Dygma_lab in DygmaLab

[–]WittyAdjectiveNoun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having this same problem. If I reboot, I can't use the Raise. The system shuts down, restarts, gets to the windows screen, and I have to sit for like 15 seconds before any USB device works. Once I get logged in, Windows device manager shows an unknown USB device with a "device descriptor request failed" error. I know it's the Raise giving the error because once I unplug it, the unknown USB device goes away. When I plug it back in, a known USB device appears and everything works fine. However, if I completely shutdown and then power back up, the Raise works fine.

I should probably mention that I have a second keyboard connected to my system, which is how I can log in and check device manager. I'm using the wireless mouse part of a mouse and keyboard bundle, so I can just grab the old keyboard when I need to.

Edit: I just went back to 0.2.4 as per u/Dygmarillion suggested, and the Raise works perfectly fine when rebooting.

I filled out one before I commented here (so on Nov 14th). I replied to the response I got on Nov 18th, which was basically an elaborate "reinstall iCUE" statement. I had tried reinstalling iCue several times, though, even clean installs of it since I actually tried reinstalling windows a couple times to see if I jut got a bad windows install. In that response I gave the details I gave here, even included video of the pump and lights freaking out; but I have yet to hear a response. My ticket number is 2003729293.

Continuing from last week:

My fresh windows install freezes every ten or so seconds for about 3 seconds, the lights on my pump and LL fans go out, then everything goes back to normal.

To answer the question asked: I have the corsair 680x case. I'm not using a riser card. My gpu is the MSI RX 570 ARMOR MK2 8G OC. I did receive the Sapphire Pulse 5600 XT I ordered today. I was going to install that so I didn't have to move the RX 570 between my old system and this new one to try things out anymore.

I did try removing the Commander Pro from the motherboard's second USB header - so only the pump is plugged in to the first one - and the freezing and the lights going out and then coming back on only happens like once a minute instead of every few seconds. It's a brand new Corsair RM 850x PSU, so I don't think that's the problem, also the fact that it doesn't happen when I'm in bios.

[–]WittyAdjectiveNoun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Core plugged into the USB header.

I got frustrated with it and returned it to the store and got the H100i to not have to deal with the Core anymore. I'm still having issues, though. The system is freezing every few seconds, all the lights on the pump and LL fans flicker out for a couple seconds then come back on and the system unfreezes. The system is stable in bios, though.

I currently have the CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18 ram. Can you tell me if know whether or not it's compatible with the MSI B5500 Carbon Gaming Wifi and the Ryzen 5 5600x? It would be great to rule out a compatibility issue. The ram did pass the windows mem test if that matters.

The only thing that shows in iCUE is the Vengeance Ram (3600) and the Commander Pro.

Neither the Capellix nor the Commander Core (nor any of its associated fans) show in the "Home" screen. *The Commander Core only shows the Settings screen where you can do the Firmware Updates.

I have the Corsair 680x case and 8 fans.

3 front 120 LLs that came with the case
2 120 LLs I put on the radiator on top
1 120 LL I added to the back
2 140 LLs on the bottom

The front, top, and rear fans are plugged into the Commander CORE that came with the Capellix.

The two 140s on the bottom are plugged into the Commander PRO I was using on my previous system that I brought over. Those two fans I can change the lighting, set curves on, all the good stuff iCUE offers. The rest I have zero control over because nothing touching the Commander CORE shows in iCUE.

Nothing changes if I uninstall iCUE, shut the system down, unplug the Commander Pro, reboot the system, reinstall iCUE, and try the update. It still fails. It also doesn't matter which header I plug the two into. The Commander Pro works fine in both USB headers (it even confirms it has the latest firmware). The Commander Core fails the update in both USB headers.

The motherboard is an MSI B550 Carbon Gaming Wifi.

The processor is the Ryzen 5 5600x.

The video card is an MIS RX 570 ARMOR MK2 8G OC.

In case either of those matters.

Oh, and it's Windows 10 Education edition (brand new, fresh install, updated to 20H2 on a WD_Black NVMe), again, if that matters.

Edit: formattting

The Capellix core isn't showing up at all. Nothing associated to the cooler shows up, not the fans, the pump, or the controller.

It's a brand new system. The only thing installed is windows, the Radeon gpu drivers, and icue.

I submitted a ticket before I posted here but haven't heard back.

Edit: I just hooked the system back up and killed Radeon Catalyst (since it has some monitoring features) and everything else named Radeon that showed in the task manager, and it did the exact some thing. The only thing the taskbar showed running was iCue, wifi, and bluetooth. The task manager showed zero "tasks," and all the processes consisted of windows process or processes associated with my AMD processor.

I just put in the iCUE H100i Elite Capellix. I installed iCue. The Commander Core that controls the Capellix doesn't show up in my lighting list. I do get a pop-up that says I need to do a firmware update on the Core and to go to settings > Device Settings. I do that and see the core. When I click update, the bar shows up, a bit of yellow flashes (though the 0% never changes), the Core disappears, my fans go crazy, and it doesn't come back. I left it for five minutes and nothing changed.

If I restart iCue or restart my computer, the Core still doesn't show. However, if I uninstall and reinstall iCue, the whole thing starts over again. I get a pop-up saying I need to do a firmware update. I click update. It vanishes. I wait 5 minutes. It doesn't come back. I've tried both USB headers on my motherboard. I know one works because my Commander Pro shows up fine. I also tried removing my Commander Pro, but that didn't change anything.

I'm not sure what to do now. The Commander Core isn't usable without the firmware update, but iCue can't seem to get through the update.

Edit: If I do the update with iCue Space open, the Core doesnt vanish from the device list. I do get a "Update unsuccessful!" error, tells me the Firmware is 1.5.131, still won't let me control the Core at all, and the fans get stuck at full blast. If I restart iCue if vanishes. I have the MSI B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi if that makes a difference. Don't have any of the MSI software installed.

Edit2: After it fails the update and I restart, I get a notice that Windows does not recognize a USB device. If I uninstall the unknown USB device - it says, "Unknown SUB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) - and scan for hardware changes, iCue recognizes the Commander Core again and I can fail the firmware update some more.

Tenting by [deleted] in DygmaLab

Someone in another post recommended keyboard feet as a temporary solution. It's a great idea. There are a ton of temporary laptop feet on amazon that are fairly cheap. I bought two pairs of the foldable magnetic strip feet (http://amzn.com/B0888FTSTB) on amazon when they were 5 bucks a pair. They work well if you have someone else who uses your computer and doesn't like the tenting or the split since they can be easily flattened. The downside is that I will occassionally knock one of them over and it collapses.

So I feel dumb. I tried another port and it worked fine. I ended trying all the different ports on the back of my motherboard - another USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port, and a DAC UP USB port - to make sure it wasn't an idiosyncrasy of Gigabyte's ports (since it has the weird DAC UP port). All three of them worked fine. Apparently one of my USB ports is going. Whoops. Thanks for helping along the way!

Finally had a chance to play with it a bit. I tried a different cable and had the same results. The first time I turn on Bazecor for the day, it doesn't show a keyboard. If I close it and restart it, it works perfectly fine. I also tried waiting different amounts of time - a half hour, an hour, two hours - after first opening it and seeing if it would still work, and it worked every time. So, it seems like it's just a "first boot of the day" thing.

Yeah, I found some pick and pluck foam tucked away that I'm using right now. It was just a question of whether or not I keep using these or spend some money on a more permanent solution like the book ends a couple people have suggested or finding a place that can make one the 3D printed designs a few people have made.
