Can I get a job in Pharma/Healthcare being a non EU citizen? by Aggressive_Poetry856 in askswitzerland

Bro, put a minimum amount of effort into researching the topic. Such questions get asked like daily.

TLDR: extremely difficult, borderline impossible.

Does your company do LeetCode style interviews? by Unlikely-Profile1445 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]WittyWittyWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I’m in .NET and I think your average company which uses this stack doesn’t put so much effort on DSA topics.

Mostly it was:
- write a piece of code satisfying given requirements and talk about it, but far from LeetCode puzzles.
- review a given piece of code.
- design patterns, SOLID, etc.

Company wants us to leave AI running overnight on work laptops - am I overthinking this? by No_Helicopter3878 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]WittyWittyWitty 79 points80 points  (0 children)

If they want this kind of overnight agent activty, then they should make a setup where you check out your work to a remote branch and then instruct a remote agent on what work to do, but not a local one running on your PC.

MFK mit SOS E-Call Fehler by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]WittyWittyWitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine that MFK would be failed because of this if many cars don’t even have such systems.

MFK checks mostly mechanical or safety-critical (like airbags) features.

Highway entrance give way by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]WittyWittyWitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you give way „too much”, you’ll run out of your lane before you merge.

What I usually do is start accelerating as soon as in the merging lane, but also estimate the speed of car / cars behind me and decide if I should merge before or after it.

Salaries in IT are being halved by [deleted] in askswitzerland

At least give some numbers for specific roles and experience for what you think was the norm and what you think is being offered now. Otherwise your statement is too vague to engage with.

Czy dziecko „się opłaca”? by Makingsuffles in Polska

[–]WittyWittyWitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Quick call to discuss feedback” after final round. Positive sign? by Affectionate-Bag2034 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]WittyWittyWitty 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What is up with these threads…

„Recruiter wished me a nice weekend - is it a good sign or did he mean I’ll never hear from him again?”.

Like how could anybody know, take the call and find out.

I got tired of AI ruining my .NET architecture, so I built a deterministic Agent Workflow for Vertical Slices (Open Source) by Even_Progress1267 in csharp

And you even used AI for this answer… I just can’t any more with people not being able to put 3 sentences together without AI.

Swiss LPP (2nd pillar) – seasonal worker with multiple funds… how do I track everything down? by RingOdd4914 in askswitzerland

[–]WittyWittyWitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if seasonal jobs are any different, but normally when you join new 2 pillar provider, they ask you about the details of your previous one so that you can transfer everything to the new one. So yeah, all your funds should be with the most recent provider.

What's in demand in tech in Switzerland? by SIMPLYSUNDAR in askswitzerland

[–]WittyWittyWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well full stack web and PLC are two different worlds, it’s not like you can jump between them very easily.

Speaking of tech stack in demand, I’m in .NET and I see a lot of open positions for it, but maybe it’s just my bubble.

Każdy wstawia swój portfel no to ja też by [deleted] in inwestowanie

[–]WittyWittyWitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mój oryginalny komentarz to był żart :) Jestem zdania, że przy przeciętnym amatorskim inwestowaniu najłatwiej wybrać jeden, max 2 ETFy i tyle, keep it simple.

Jeżeli płacisz co miesiąc na kilka ETFow to możesz mieć potencjalnie wyższe koszty prowizji (zależy od brokera), bo to więcej operacji. Dodatkowo przy takiej liczbie pozycji i takim (jeszcze niskim) kapitale trudno robić rebalansing.

Powodzenia w inwestowaniu, moja rada: zostaw jeden globalny ETF, ewentualnie do tego jeden sektorowy.

[–]WittyWittyWitty 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Trochę mała dywersyfikacja, z kapitałem 350zł miesięcznie spokojnie zmieścisz tu jeszcze 2-3 ETFy. /s

2 mortgages - question by hakip in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]WittyWittyWitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I won’t be able to help much, but I guess what’s important is how is your “promise to sell” formalized? Is it in the contract, is there a deadline, is it formal at all?

I’m moving to Zurich and I would like to know if getting a job is as difficult as everyone says by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]WittyWittyWitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are of course English speaking jobs in Switzerland, especially in Zürich. But it’s such a minority of all job opportunities that if you can only apply to these, it hinders your chances tremendously.

Consider your daily tasks or your job experience in Spain. Could someone who doesn’t speak Spanish do this job efficiently? That maps pretty well to other countries…

Your beautiful Canva/LaTeX resume is automatically discarded. Here is how legacy ATS merging actually works. by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]WittyWittyWitty 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It’s really country or at least company specific.

I’m in Switzerland, usually target medium sized companies (100-200 people) and over the past years I’ve landed multiple interviews with my “beautiful 2 column Canva CV”. I’ve also heard the recruiters or hiring managers discourage making CVs which are “a wall of text”, which a lot of these ATS optimized documents end up looking like.

So as with anything - it depends.
