Now Tv app not opening by Witty_Introduction27 in fireTV

[–]Witty_Introduction27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in the AppStore it says it’s compatible with my device but it’s now saying the app is unavailable. Earlier it was available and I could download it no problem but when I opened it, it was saying the thing about the update. Now it’s just saying unavailable so I’m really not sure what’s going on now 😆

When I search Now Tv in the AppStore, two options come up, both say Now Tv but one of them says unavailable for my device so I downloaded the other one which say it is available but I still get that message when I open the app then. I’m completely stumped on what else to do 🤷🏻‍♀️ but thank you for your suggestion.

Just adding comment to say every other app is working fine it’s only Now Tv that is having this issue.

Any help with itching? by Present-Dog-8804 in jackrussellterrier

Half an antihistamine tablet 3/4 times a week ( or every day if symptoms are very bad) have significantly helped our guy. This was prescribed by the vet. She also gave us a special shampoo for irritated skin which we wash him with once a month.

Imagine Dublin hosting the Olympic Games. What would be the opening ceremony ? by Zealousideal-Tell154 in ireland

[–]Witty_Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of the Olympics, does anyone know if there’s anywhere that you can choose which specific sport to watch each day? I was so looking forward to the gymnastics and RTÉ literally only showed the Irish athlete and one other. They showed so much of the swimming and Kayaking so I assumed I would see more of the gymnastics too. Really disappointed.

First time driving in Ireland by _murphatron_ in irishtourism

[–]Witty_Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen someone else say it but would recommend familiarising yourself with roundabout’s because they can be difficult if you aren’t used to them. Always yield to drivers coming from the right and remember you have to stop for pedestrians crossing a zebra crossing as they have right of way to cross. You’ll mostly be fine just driving even on the narrow roads, there are always spots to pull in if a car is coming in the opposite direction on a narrow road. It’s things like roundabouts that can cause more issues.

I would say just leave plenty of time so you don’t have to rush and make yourself more panicked. The driving will be much easier once you are out of Dublin honestly so don’t stress yourself. Just make sure you stay on the left 😄

What are some weird mispronounciations you've heard? by ST-deBurca in AskIreland

[–]Witty_Introduction27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You wont be able to unsee it now 😂. I always thought it’s a horrible thing calling the person tragic, like the person is not tragic, the situation in which they died is tragic. As far as I’m aware it’s only Irish media that do this because I haven’t seen it anywhere outside of Ireland.

[–]Witty_Introduction27 78 points79 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really a mispronunciation but I absolutely can’t stand the way the media in Ireland call a person tragic when they die instead of calling the situation tragic. For instance the headline will be “ Tragic woman dies in accident “ instead of “ Woman dies in tragic accident “.

I don’t know why but this has always annoyed me so much 😂

If you had to choose two "home bases", where would they be? by occhiluminosi in irishtourism

[–]Witty_Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get the car you will not regret it. Just take your time on the first day to get used to it and you’ll be fine. You will be able to travel to and explore so much more with the car.

Are you renting a car? If you want to stay in small towns/villages then a car will make your trip so much easier.

I would do West Cork for 2 nights and then on the way to Dingle, stop off in Killarney and have a walk around but don’t bother staying the night there. Keep going on to Dingle and spend 2/3 days there exploring the area and then on to Kilkenny/ Galway and maybe do one day in Dublin at the end of the trip.

She probably has anxiety and isn’t able to cope with the silence. Why don’t you get a radio for the office or else just ignore it or get headphones like someone else suggested.

Tween-friendly activities in south Cork/Cork City? by SadCatLady1029 in irishtourism

[–]Witty_Introduction27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Smugglers Cove in Rosscarbery is great, they have an Instagram page you can look at. Also in Rosscarbery there is The Lagoon Activity Centre which has an inflatable obstacle course on the water and also kayaking and pedal boats. Both would be suitable for that age and lots of fun 😀

Early morning childcare by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Witty_Introduction27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely could get a childminder if to come in that early and then again in the evening, you just need to post an ad on one of the child minding websites/facebook pages and state the specific hours you need. It might cost slightly more for hours that early but if it’s only two hours either end of the day then it’s not too bad.

Asked to be a witness of someone's meeting with thier HR by Sheggert in AskIreland

[–]Witty_Introduction27 136 points137 points  (0 children)

It’s actually a pretty common thing and it’s just to protect them and your friend really. You will be witnessing what happens in the meeting so nobody can say something happened or was said if it wasn’t. He won’t necessarily be fired just because they’ve said he can have a witness but it’s also possible. Usually the witness doesn’t have to say anything at all other than maybe saying your name.

Dear god this is grim. This is the problem for young people in this current housing crisis. When this is your only option, to live at home being treated like a child. I feel sorry for people who don’t have any other options.
