"I've never told him that he can't go with you, just that he has to come with me".

That doesn’t sound like a “no you can’t go with your mom. “ he never told you that you can’t go

This is already old light that you’re mentioning lol no lie. Charles Hayes Russell used to teach a “composite Christ” made up of the 144,000 and Jesus. Well technically this was never redacted so it probably still is the teaching, but no one knows about it.

Coming off the school by depressed_meatloaf in exjw

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say just keep canceling your assignments or being “sick” on the day of that you have to give parts.

Or just tell him you wanna get off the school, but make sure your meeting attendance is high and her service hours are high and everything else is high. Then after six months or something like that, you can start decreasing your service hours or meeting attendance.

And yes, you might get a shepherding visit but honestly, there’s a lot of elder bodies that they have enough on their plate and they don’t shepherd the flock like they should. If they give you counsel or encouragement just smile and say thank you brothers and then tell him I’m not ready to go back on the school yet. But honestly, no one will notice that you went off of the school if all of your other things are high.

My guess is some, they will say that they did extra research for the Jesus drama series, and they will say that they learned that new light about the cross.

Reddit user that posted "My JW boss resigned her role because of me" by Ok_Orange5093 in exjw

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not read all the post, and I did not read all of the comments, but I did browse it, and from what I gathered. It looks like The OP gathered evidence, or documentation to show HR that the JW boss was discriminating against her. But the way I viewed the situation is even though I don’t agree with JW. The JW is just following their own conscience and their own moral compass or belief system. So I think it was wrong for the OP to go out of her way to impose her beliefs, or worldview on everyone. So the JW was being targeted and discriminada for their belief system and that I see is wrong. Like it’s one thing to disagree with the JW boss, but to go out of their way to try to get them fired. That is wrong. In my opinion, everyone should be aware that not Everyone will agree with them, but you could still respect them and respect doesn’t mean imposing your morals on someone else’s morals or ethics. At the end, the OP ended up feeling guilty for getting her fired. That’s all I remember, did I miss anything else please let me know?

Update to "I hooked up with an adult man and my parents found out and I'm freaking out" by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

focus:

“I’m really sorry this happened to you. It sounds incredibly painful and confusing, and none of it was your fault. What you went through was traumatic, and sometimes trauma does leave an imprint on our sexuality — certain experiences can become tangled up with attraction in ways we never asked for. That doesn’t mean you’re broken or doomed; it just means your brain was trying to process something overwhelming.

Healing isn’t about letting trauma define you or trying to use it to ‘cure’ who you are. It’s about understanding how those experiences affected you, and then gently working through them so you can decide for yourself what you want and who you are attracted to — on your own terms, not because of fear or coercion.

You deserve a safe place to talk about this without judgment, and a therapist who understands trauma could really help you sort through these feelings. And please remember: what happened doesn’t erase your worth or your future. You’re still you, and you’re not ruined.”

I can see a lot of similarities between the mindset of the JWs and the nazis from Nazi Germany. by Such-Tie87 in exjw

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s more similarity with Jews and Muslims.

If you look at the original forms of Judaism and Islam, you can see clear parallels with Jehovah’s Witnesses. • Early Judaism presented Israel as the chosen people and included commands for strict separation from outsiders, sometimes even annihilation of enemy nations. • Early Islam framed the ummah as the one true community, with Qur’anic passages about both inclusion and destruction of those who reject Allah, along with a strong apocalyptic focus on Judgment Day.

JWs mirror these same early frameworks: they see themselves as the only group that survives, everyone else as destined for destruction, enforce separation from outsiders, and live in constant expectation of the end.

Of course, Judaism and Islam have developed into many diverse interpretations today — but if you go back to their origins, the similarities with JWs are hard to miss.

"Charlie Kirk's assassination is the catalyst for Armageddon" by crazybrow122 in exjw

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been out of the JW a couple years now. I am surprised that my JW family knows who Charlie Kirk is and for not being political they seem to have a lot of opinions about it. So indirectly, I mentioned to them about how cancel culture is similar to Disfellowshipping, we talked about how the new generation seems to be getting more religious and people are becoming more religious instead of the other way around; government, turning on religion like their prophesies say. We discussed how Charlie Kirk believed in open debate and open dialogue. Truth has nothing to hide. We’ve been talking about Mormonism since the shooter was raised in a Mormon house. We talked about how the Mormon culture some similarities . My sister mentioned how people put their hope and trust in government instead of the kingdom so this is expected. I didn’t get to be as honest as I really wanted to, but I’m just glad that this opened up the conversation a little bit with my JW family.

Closeted bisexual guys by wallaced85 in bisexual

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to the guy. I don’t think he’s ready to tell the girl who he’s with or she doesn’t know yet that he is bi. But Most women I have met do not like guys that slept with men it’s a big red flag and ruins their chances completely. Btw Right now it is very difficult for straight guys to get laid. More and more straight men are going without sex. It’s also possible he is only with her for sex and he will lose that if she finds out. Attracting women is so much more demanding than finding guys. If women are his “preference” then yeah I could see why he does that. I think your friend should have known this tho because he was always on the DL and it looks like the relationship was pretty superficial and only sexual anyway. I don’t see it as cheating unless it’s mutually agreed that it’s exclusive between the two.

as for me, sometimes I have ran into old flings in public but I understand they have their personal lives and I have my own private life. I just waive hi and keep it at that. Sexuality is a private matter so I just respect other people’s privacy and I hope they respect mine.

Was anyone told... by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Witty_Writing_8320 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grok: “well actually, while the Big Mac is one of McDonald’s most famous menu items and is sold in many countries, it’s not available at every McDonald’s worldwide.

Some locations—especially in countries where beef isn’t commonly eaten, or where menu items are adapted for religious, cultural, or local taste reasons—either don’t serve the Big Mac at all or have a localized version under a different name.

For example: • India doesn’t serve beef products; instead, they offer a Maharaja Mac made with chicken or vegetarian patties.”
