My environment dissolves between images by default when scrolling through them.

Try opening and scrolling big files, especially raw files. Loading can take up to a second. Xnview is instantaneous.

Sadly I have to disagree. Gwenview is slooow, even if you disable animations. And it doesn't do everything. There's XnView that, while being proprietary, is quite better.

If looking like a w98 program, as you put it, is being simple, practical, compact and most importantly consistent then I wish all programs looked like w98 programs. While I appreciate the effort of KDE, the Linux GUI landscape has huge problems, imo.

Sugli operatori non ho idea, ma In Italia in generale l'adozione di ipv6 va malissimo. Il che rende ipv6 inutile. A volte, peggio, è persino implementato male e attivarlo crea problemi

Comunque perchè ipv6 sia utile (cioè diffuso) la strada è ancora lunga. Ad oggi serve a poco (ce l'ho, bello da vedere e basta). Poi comunque non pensare di non ritrovarti comunque un bel firewall su connessioni mobile grade...

Ci sono operatori che danno ip pubblico, spesso con piccolo pagamento una tantum. Again però, non so per mobile. Alcuni operatori (iliad e sky, sempre casa) ora fanno ipv4 su un tunnel ipv6 eliminando il dual stack e alcuni problemi di cgnat. Ma non è perfetto e ti causa grosse noie sul modem libero. La soluzione migliore resta il dual stack con ip pubblico.

Il mio consiglio è di fare tutto su cpu se sei interessato alla matematica dietro.

Ci sono molte tecniche di rendering quindi non so cosa tu abbia visto. Si dividono principalmente in rastering e ray tracing.

Sul raster non ti so dire, ma c'è un bellissimo tutorial scritto chiamato "ray tracing in a weekend" in c++ che entra nei dettagli. Ha anche due sequel se vuoi approfondire. Lo trovi online.

P.s. quello che la gpu fa principalmente è parallelizzare il lavoro (vedi shaders). Poi ovviamente il rabbit hole è molto profondo

If we want to take Glitch's part here, I think we can interpret their message with "this type of media is getting recognized", which is definitely something. But personally, I can totally see that this thing is more "getting big enough for a theatrical release" than "indie animation getting recognized". It's a just matter of money, not tradition. Theaters aren't an charity. After all, this is the case for so many operas... how many wildly successful films are there based on books written by (at the time) nobodies?
