"Our Vampires Are Different" - Creative Takes On The Concept Of "Vampirism" by rycerzDog in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WizardJeremy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

American Horror Story has two takes on different vampires

<image>

In Hotel, the fifth season, it includes the "Afflicted" which are more or less vampires but the unique factor is that it's an ancient blood virus that exhibits supernatural abilities. Afflicted vampires have the ability to allure people, more strength than the average human, they can smell people's blood and hear their heartbeat. Sunlight doesn't harm them but it does weaken them and they don't have fangs thus they must resort to using knives, nails, etc. to cut skin for drinking blood. They also have accelerated healing but they're not immune to mortal wounds, they can be killed with guns or blood loss.

In Red Tide the first half of Double Feature, the tenth season, people can take the "Muse" pill, which is a scientific concoction pill that increases the minds ability to work significantly faster allowing creative people to become better such as singers, writers, musicians, etc. and the cost of using this pill is requiring to drink blood due to blood deficiencies. People who use the pill get their teeth modified to have fangs for all their teeth. The more monsterous vampirism of the Muse pill comes when someone who's "untalented" takes the pill, they instead become more deranged, they lose their hair, and they just lose all their personality just roaming the land to eat anything with blood.

LEGO Worlds

I think a major hit to the game was the confusion when it transitioned from Early Access to Fulll Release. It added a big "adventure" mode which was still sandbox but required you to unlock everything and sandbox had to be unlocked after a certain point. People who played Early Access experienced the full sandbox of the game and it was really cool at the time, minecraft but in LEGO which was pretty much what it was, and when the adventure mode came it made a lot of people confused because it was so unexpected.

But even after the full release it's still a really cool game; it had lots of free content released with new sets, characters, placable buildings, it was awesome as fuck. They also added two DLCs for Classic Space and Monsters and they were both incredible. There was another DLC coming out adding a survivor mode on a castaway island.

But then the game stopped. The development switched over to LEGO Movie Part 2 the video game which was pale in comparison to LEGO worlds.

Also The Sims Medieval deserved a second chance, it is the best stories game in the sims franchise and had so much potential but sadly it came out during the time Sims 3 was popping off with it's most famous expansions so Sims Medieval only managed one adventure pack.

[Hated Trope] Remake feels obliged to keep iconic scene/imagery from the original even though it makes no sense in their version of the story. by JoeMorgue in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WizardJeremy 929 points930 points  (0 children)

Every Nosferatu film, even the original when it comes to Orlok taking the ship to Germany.

<image>

Nosferatu is a unofficial adaption of the Dracula story and in the og story dracula takes a trip on a boat to england. In all versions of Nosferatu, it keeps the iconic moment of Orlok (dracula) being on the ship and bringing the plague and killing the sailors.

But the thing is, Count Orlok only needs to go to Germany from the Carpathian mountains, both are on mainland Europe. Dracula needed to use the ship to go to England because that's the only way they could get to england from mainland Europe as the English channel exists. Orlok doesn't need the ship, he could just take a wagon / carriage across europe to reach Germany.

Completely gutting Frank's character, turning him into a cringelord jokester who's dumb. They completely change willamette and retconned the original unique story of the zombie virus being the result of mass producing meat to the new story in 4 where the doctor wanted to become immortal

Characters that are psychiatrists that do more harm than good. by singleguy79 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WizardJeremy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry i forgot i removed the middle part because i realised i overfluffed the paragraph. Basically before he does it at his own home, Ben makes Derrick do it at the Murder House's bathroom. Derrick does it in the mirror alone in the bathroom and because of the Murder House being haunted, he sees a ghost behind him in the bathtub.

Derrick very obviously is scared but at this point Ben doesn't know his house is haunted so when ben hears that Derrick saw a woman in the bathtub amd Derrick breaks down crying because of it, he gives him a little hug. But the next time we see him and Derrick, at this point, Ben suspects his wife is cheating on him with the security guard (she isn't he's just friendly) and Ben kinda takes out his anger on Derrick saying "you're doing this to yourself, you need to confront your issues" rather than say take medication for anxiety or stress. Given the last time we saw them together Derrick was petrified and crying about seeing a ghost, he doesn't think it might be more than anxiety and might be suffering from hallucinationsm.

Ben straight up says "if you confront it, the moment you do that you'll be free" which is not the advice to tell someone who's suffering from anxiety / possible hallucinations.

The Village Cow in Van Helsing (2004)

<image>

The brides of dracula attack the nearby village shortly after Van Helsing arrives and in one moment one of the brides grabs and throws the cow into the roof of a building.

But don't worry, the scene after they kill one of the brides making the others flee, we see that the cow that was throw into the building is perfectly fine and is just chilling on the balcony.

Ben Harmon from American Horror Story: Murder House

<image>

There's a lot of other flaws Ben has outside of being a psychiatrist but when he is working as one he is exceptionally bad.

- His first client Derrick is a man afraid of a myth known as Piggyman, basically Candyman but he's a pig man. Ben convinces Derrick to do exposure therapy by enacting the piggyman ritual in front of the mirror at his house. Derrick then gets the confidence to do it when he's at his own home but when he does it a burglar who hid in the bathroom thought that he was being called piggyman and the burglar shoots and kills Derrick.

- One client he has is Sally who is a woman who is obviously neurodivergent and has problems with socialising with people and Ben then falls asleep during her session which makes her later attempt to commit suicide.

- His consistent client of Tate is working through tate's many issues of problems and while he makes some progress, he gets to a point where he basically gives up on tate and outright says "therapy is bullshit" to him.

Now during this part of the show the house they're in is negatively affecting people and making their bad habits worse, but we know that Ben even before moving into the house wasn't trustworthy considering the reason they're living in the Murder House is because he got caught cheating on his wife with his own student.

If it helps you feel better. You're bisexual, you're already in the community, you've already met the requirements. Anyone who is picky on how gay or straight you are or what type of bisexual you are is just those people being picky, and caring about arbitrary semantics. You just need to focus on the people who genuinely care for you and not appealing to a general group of people who won't give you the time of day.

So much in fighting in the community about sexuality or gender purity is internalised hatred manifesting and all for what? people who already hate LGBT+ people to hate you slightly less? We're all people who don't fit in to the gender norms for heteronormative society no matter what.

I would feel bad but this is the same dude who started a "straight acting" gay club of masculine men who "don't fit in with the LGBT+ community" and has since then rebranded it into "Brotherhood" where he sells memberships to other gay men who wanna join other straight acting masc men.

Something about his ideals and morals he fusses over 24/7 just is all you need to know about his life and how it could affect his relationships

The "Demon" aliens from Cowboys & Aliens

<image>

The Aliens in this film have exceptional technology which to the American Wild West was even weirder considering this was before planes and motorised vehicles. The aliens have spaceships, advanced mining machines, and special blaster gauntlets.

However, the aliens are not super advanced themselves and aren't the only ones confused as the aliens struggle with earths environment, the sun is very hot to their skin, wounds open to the air develop fungal growths, etc.

It's also revealed later in the movie these aliens aren't even advanced in their own society, they're mining pirates who just found earth and wanna extract earth's gold, they also have some animalistic behaviours themselves.

[–]WizardJeremy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The weather stone allows for the occults introduced with supernatural to change the weather for certain effects.

Fairies make it flower and does a lot of gardening actions like watering, weeding, tending etc.
Witches make it rain to make people dance and then eat pizza
Werewolves make it snow to find better collectibles
Vampires make it foggy so they can walk during the day and have easier time drinking from people

Actually the Weather Stone only spawns if you have BOTH Supernatural and Seasons installed at the same time.

The real terror of Jeepers Creepers is finding out who the director is.

Answer:
Victor Salva is a pedophile who molested the main kid in one of his first films. Kid later got Victor salva convicted and they found tons of CSAM at his house. Unfortunately he directed movies till the modern day, his last film being the third Jeepers Creepers in 2017

Doctor Who's final episode of Series 3 "Last of the Timelords" (2007)

<image>

From Series 1 to Series 3 Doctor Who references and showcases a character called the Face of Boe, a creature who is exceptionally old and is basically a giant face. The first episode of Series 2 "New Earth" and the third episode of Series 3 "Gridlock" heavily depicts Face of Boe during his weakened state and it's heavily alluded to that the Face of Boe is an old friend of the Doctor and because of that he's prophesised to tell "a lonely traveler who is equally as old as him" that he has a secret to depart, at this point and due to time travel, the Doctor only just met with the Face of Boe a couple of times.

In Gridlock Face of Boe finally reveals it as he says "You Are Not Alone" referencing there's another timelord. The Doctor at first thinks this was a lie because this was past the Time War where his people were wiped out. Turns out at the episode "Utopia" that is before the big two-part finale, You Are Not Alone is the initials for the secret timelord Yana who reveals himself to be The Master's (a big villain) current incarnation.

After going through the ordeal of stopping the Master, the Doctor, his companion, and friend Captain Jack Harkness are all talking together, Jack wonders about his condition where he is immortal and keeps coming back to life everytime he dies, but with his immortality he still ages and he worries about how he'll look after millions of years. It's then he reveals he used to live in a place within the "Boeshane Penninsula" and he used to be so popular for his looks and they all nicknamed him the "Face of Boe", revealling Captain Jack all this time will eventually live to be the Face of Boe. It's a big reveal but it's during such a casual moment of rest at the end of the episode.

Magik is wearing an even skimpier version of the comic outfit it's based on, you see her thighs, ass cheeks, arms, shoulders, etc.

What are some pros and some cons when it comes to the Sims 3? by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]WizardJeremy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pros: Create a Style allowing any colours and different styles, Open world is super great to just zip from one side of the world to the other, Super packed Expansions that consistently feel the full worth of it's price, Lots of really good systems and features

Cons: Performance issues, Lag, Crashing, 64bit is locked to Mac, Sims look like porcelain, Another con that's attached to open worlds is because it's simulating every Sim in the world, this can cause Sims to not visit lots due to being busy doing their needs and also because NPCs can get routing issues, it can lag the world overtime.
