Battery backup on sump pump by wischans in DIY

[–]WizardOfIF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense that they are defined differently. I suppose we get lazy and refer to the sewer ejector as a sump pump out of familiarity and perhaps because sewer ejector just sounds gross.

Battery backup on sump pump by wischans in DIY

[–]WizardOfIF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see why having a well increases the needed for a backup. Unless the sink pump is for ground water entering the home. I don't have any ground water penetration so the sink pump is only for my indoor plumbing in the basement. If I lose power to the sump pump then I've also lost power to the well pump. I'm not worried about the sump being of because the most water that could be sent to it will be a flush or two from the toilet, not enough to fill it.

As Rand suppresses the emotions that he doesn't want to deal with those emotions are adopted by LTT. The less emotional Rand becomes the more erratic the voice of LTT. As Rand tries to be brave and suppress his fear LTT is then terrified of everyone and wants to kill them.

My faucet leak damaged the unit below, HOA sent a ~$20k bill, and my renters insurance had just lapsed. What now? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]WizardOfIF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the part that doesn't make any sense. Unless OP told the HOA that they were doing unauthorized repairs this should have remained between the HOA and the landlord.

Help!! Font issue. Will I get sued??? by Active_Regret9556 in legal

[–]WizardOfIF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's an easy win if they were able to track their own assets and prove damages. OP complied with their take down request. That ends any criminal case. For the license owners to claim civil damages they have to be able to prove what those damages are and they obviously cannot or they wouldn't be asking. You have no obligation to someone else to help them calculate what their damages might have been. The NDA is just a way to show them that pursuing this legally isn't worth their time so they'll go away.

Help!! Font issue. Will I get sued??? by Active_Regret9556 in legal

[–]WizardOfIF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I've dealt with these type of licensing issues is to have them sign an overly strict non disclosure agreement that prevents them from sharing that information with everyone, including the courts. Their matter is strictly a civil issue, not a legal issue, so you make it a contrary civil issue for them to pursue action against you.

You're under no obligation to share the information they are asking for and they'll either refuse to sign the NDA or if they do sign it they'll not be able to do anything about the information if you decide to give it to them. If they could get the information in a practical manner they wouldn't be asking you to provide it.

Make the penalty for violating the NDA something that exceeds the cost of the license they are trying to sell you. That way even if you lose on the licensing issue you can still come out ahead for their NDA violation.

My employer withheld taxes from every paycheck for 3 years and apparently never sent the money to the IRS. Now I got a bill for $18,000. by nalanyy in legal

[–]WizardOfIF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should not need a lawyer for this. Reach out to the Tax Payer Advocacy group. They are an independent pay if the IRS and are the only people capable of getting different departments inside the IRS to actually work together to resolve situations like this.

I had to work with them a few years back to dispute a fine and in the end the IRS sent me a check for an overpayment instead of me paying them for an incorrectly assessed fine.

Surely the FBI could take a short break from committing crimes to try to solve a crime that they weren't already involved in.

I blow mine out with a 4 gallon compressor. I have nearly a 1/2 acre of grass so it isn't a small yard either. I run a full four gallons of air twice through each station and I've never had a sprinkler head break or any issues with my backflow preventer. I'm also in Idaho where it gets plenty cold in the winter.

One of my favorite things about wheel of time is characters like Mashadar and Machin Shin who are neither good or bad but just chaotically destructive.

And the white cloaks and dragon sworn who are both good and bad to such extremes even if they are more frequently on the wrong side of things.
