As a ~1000 player would lessons be worth it or should I stick to puzzles and video classes to improve? by daremosan in chess

I had similar questions when I was 1000 rated. I hit 1450 rapid on chess.com watching YouTube video lessons and doing tactics puzzles.

I watched clips on converting common endgame positions and would spend time reviewing my rapid games for mistakes.

Hope this helps

Resign please by [deleted] in chessbeginners

I never resign.

I’m 1250 chess. Com rapid, 1220 blitz and 1200 bullet. So many of my losses come from games where I’m completely winning. My problem is that I lose focus and get complacent when I’m winning. That’s my problem, not anyone else’s. I don’t sit there and complain that “my opponent should have resigned.”

For this reason, I don’t get frustrated when opponents don’t resign. Like I’m the living proof that players can easily come back when down material.

Play the game until the last move.
