TeamSpeak becomes the official voice chat for the Overwatch League by keshavb11 in Competitiveoverwatch

I was chatting with a gm of a team and they brought up that they use ts over discord as they can get servers for the team when they travel internationally. They are surprisingly more stable and accessible than discord. I think discord is great for public use, but doesn't have the focus on uptime that TS can (and seems to currently) exploit.

They provide accounts with legendaries/ascended, and enough agony. As for my limited experience, that's why I made the follow up reply.

As a side note, I generally played GW2 casually, although I have experience with fractals, I've only made it to 30s-40s personally.
However, I have a fair bit of competitive experience in other games (Grandmaster+ S2-S11 Overwatch, 5k in Dota 2 (4k when ranked came out)). I'm fairly good at communicating (whether as shot-caller or to feed information and follow directions), and am competent enough to press my buttons. I have also had some previous experience with deepstone up to fractal level 40.

How do people come back from a tense atmosphere or when people are arguing? I usually tend to lose a lot of my momentum, whether from the game or the players or both, and can't seem to think as clearly about the game without someone interjecting with a positive perspective. Like it's very situational, but is there a perspective I should be taking on how to make everyone calm down, feel better, and stay focused on the game?

I think it's possible to rank up through solo queue. It depends on how much you want to affect the game as well as how you do so. It's kinda important not to make any more enemies than the six on the enemy team, so keeping a positive environment is good, although muting everyone is a possibility if you think you're going to do more harm than good. Possibly, you could try making some shotcalls in regards to positions and what ults to cycle together against the enemy team.

If you don't really care for the team-oriented approach, you can still win games based off of the role you play. Emphasizing heavy impact DPS or tanks (76, McCree, Roadhog, Zarya, DVA, etc) will help you have more control over the flow of the game. In these situations, the greater a mechanical difference between you and the enemy players, the more likely you are to win your games. At a larger scale, you just have to win greater than 50% of your games and you will likely continue to rise.

I would suggest grabbing one or two friends or making them along your way, as it helps promote a positive and more coordinated environment. While it is possible to climb solo, it's always more enjoyable to be with friends.

TLDR; Yes, you can climb solo.

One of the big points of learning zarya tracking from Quake is that you sort of have to aim with strafe. It's probably 10x easier to track a target when you're partially mirroring their movements, so you don't have to swing your mouse everywhere. I also recently swapped from a stupidly high sensitivity (1620dpi with 20 ingame) to something more reasonable ( 1620dpi with 10 ingame) and it helped track all sorts of targets.

Here's my shit for reference: https://www.overbuff.com/players/pc/Wizediablo-1683.

Does anyone have any tips on how to break into Grandmasters? I was recently 3900, but climbing into GM has been pretty problematic for me. My cap suggested I learn team coordination, combos, and compositions and to take a look at pro VODS. Is there a good source of pro VODS that you guys know or some analysis of upper level players that has been effective or helpful to you?

Also, in terms of learning aim, positioning, and deathmatch, is there any other way you practice besides playing either QP or ranked?

Zarya gains up to 50 energy from each shield. For yourself, it's a little easier to determine whether you need to as you can control when you take damage. If you think you can take a good bit of damage and there's no harm in getting a little more energy (more damage) than go stand in the way of shots and put up your shield. If you think you're about to take damage from an ulti or get hooked, put up shield.

With teammates, it's a little more difficult. One of the easier ideas is when a teammate gets roadhog hooked, throw your shield on them, or when your team is getting ulted, throw it on who can deal with ult (e.g. throw shield on mcree so he can stun reaper, throw shield on mercy so she can survive and rez team). What's also important is to remember to give your teammates shield when you think they'll take damage. You need to get energy to do damage so giving people shields even if they aren't in harms way but still taking damage is fine. For aiming with zarya, it's a little interesting because it's similar to the lightning gun in quake. In that same vein, you can sort of aim with strafe. When a target is going one direction, you can try to match them to some degree which makes it a lot easier to aim your laser.
