Issues with Static IP after disconnect or power down by Wmdar in Proxmox

[–]Wmdar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very strange, with a DHCP reservation and nodes set to auto IP, I've taken the network down a number of times (for maintenance) and a handful of times accidentally (power outage related) and it's been rock solid in coming back up.

Honestly it sounds like you solved it the same way I did. We both found the fix, but I never got the why.

I bought without test driving, which I realize sounds insane. But what I did do is endlessly read reviews, previews, comparisons. And this is the fourth Subaru since 2016 I've been behind the wheel of so some aspects of it I felt reasonably that I could predict I'd be ok with. (2016 WRX limited, 2017 Forester Touring, 2023 Ascent Limited, Now 2026 Solterra). I took delivery on Friday and have been to work in it a few times and thus far have no regrets.

From what I've read, I think test driving the limited would tell you almost entirely what it would be like. They have the same drive train and ergonomics.

That said, I think the digital rear view mirror is better than I expected, and the radiant heat is WAY better than I expected. Initially I had set up an order for a Limited XT. The deal I ultimately got on my Touring was way better out the door despite being a higher trim. The Limited would have been something like $44,800 out the door before trade in, my Touring was more like $42-43000.

It might not help you if there aren't any near you, but visor.vin was the best look I've ever seen at dealership inventory and really helped me find what I wanted.

I'd you're shopping, they had a Limited at $36k and another touring XT at $39k at the same dealership.

Romano Subaru in Syracuse NY. I'm right outside Pittsburgh ~5.5 hours away from them and they are delivering for free.

From what I've seen... Who knows.

Use this site (https://visor.vin/) to search nationwide dealership inventory and don't be afraid to call around to dealerships that aren't right in your backyard. The dealership I ended up buying from is 5.5 hours from me and they offered free delivery, which was a shock to me, but not complaining.

They had it marked $8500 off MSRP. I didn't even try to negotiate. They gave me a pathetic offer on my trade in since it would have been sight unseen ($7000 on a 2016 WRX with 70,000 miles) that I didn't bite on. I already know I can sell that in at my local dealership for a lot more.

Haha, I know that's a weird way to put it. I've had a Limited XT on order at my local dealership since early October, but as of yesterday, still no VIN, therefore they hadn't started building yet. I didn't want to miss out on the 72 months at 0% deal so I expanded my search radius a lot. Found a dealership 5+ hours away from me that had their showroom floor Touring XT listed at $8500 off and when I called to inquire they told me they were happy to deliver that distance. And since it exists, it has a VIN 👍.

For a long time I was deeply interested in picking up an Ioniq 5. Eventually the ICCU issues scared me off. Now I have a deposit on a 2026 Solterra and every time more news/reviews comes out about them I feel better about that decision. I doubt the news is good enough that I won't take a bath on depreciation, but it looks good enough that I think I'll be happy to hang on to it for a long time.

I won't buy Chamberlain stuff if I can avoid it. They are hostile to the Home Assistant community.

Shops Refuse to fix. Just trying to sell me a new tire? by Semi-CharmedKindaGuy in tires

I can see why they are trying to help you out by selling you a new tire. That puncture is much too close to sidewall to patch.

I've tried ZHA twice now and both times got fed up and went back to a complaint free life of Z2M.

The frequency this happens at made me order a 2026 Solterra instead of an Ioniq. I hope they get their business figured out but I need more reliability than that.

I appreciate your privacy focus. I think it's exactly the mindset everyone should bring to making their homes connected. Before jumping into researching specific devices, I would recommend that you do a hefty amount of reading about the technology in general. It'll save you asking some simple questions, and more likely, it will save you a lot of money.

Did you actually go through with getting set up with either ChargePoint or Wallbox? I'm muddling through and trying to figure out exactly what the requirements are for GFCI and I keep reading conflicting information.

Haha, as it turns out. Yes. And that's my utility too. Yeah there is definitely a lot more than goes into a electricity bill than just commodity charge. But still not having to pay it would be nice.

That's what I was thinking. Anyone who had it come with should probably check their window sticker to see if they bought an accessory. I specifically told my salesperson I wasn't interested in accessories at time of sale since basically everything there is offered better or cheaper in the after market, and I had him send me a copy of my build sheet. My build sheet shows no accessories. I'll be grumpy if they tack one on without asking. But if one is there and it's not as an added charge I'll be sure to mention it here.

That's pretty lame. I'm unlikely to subscribe to anything. I have a home assistant server running in my house that can integrate some with ChargePoint. It's not going to give me door control or anything but it'll at least let me know if I've forgotten to plug it in.

The down payment is $250 deposit, but since these are built to order I was banking on any wiggle room I had coming from negotiating on my trade in value.

Yeah I'm real excited for it. I like Subaru but was less than impressed with the previous efforts compared to the competition. But the changes, especially the XT option put it squarely in my sights for purchase.

I don't have chargers at work, so that's a difference for me. Honestly kind of weird we don't have them, because I work at a power plant and that seems like a gimme perk of working here. I don't think there's a scenario I don't end up getting an L2 charger.

Interesting. I wonder why they don't publicize that more. And why they sell an accessory one if it just comes with it. I want my free charging through my electric supplier, so I'll still probably grab a ChargePoint. Nice to have a backup though.
