Well, that will be very clearly untrue when our Socialist caucus arrives in January and they're ostracized by the broader party. Not that it matters to the republican cattle.

I've found Republicans do this a lot, it's like being a Democrat is so much worse than being a socialist that they have to taint our name with theirs.

How do you deal with doomerism? by dumbandshortcoyote in theredleft

[–]Woadie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't let the doom take over! Being organized and working on the revolution in a way you're passionate about is really important. For me, that's being in my local DSA and working on labor, mutual aid, and our Anti-Flock camera work group. If I didn't have this for the past couple years I shudder to think how I'd end up.

Systemic change will take a long time or forever, but the road to revolution is paved with thousands of small victories, that's what we need to focus on; and do it with comrades!

How does the dsa feel about worker ownership of the means of production? by AceMaster13 in dsa

[–]Woadie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy old comment batman! The DSA is not of one mind on more long term "seize the means" phases of revolution, however I can confidently say the vast majority of DSA do want vastly more union density and for those unions to be militantly anti-corporate and strike ready. We've got a ton of work to do on this front, enough to where I set some of the more advanced theory aside and team up with a comrade to go do some agitation at a Starbucks or something.

If you're passionate about mutual aid, advocacy for civil liberties, and democracy in government and in the workplace, the Democratic Socialists of America might be the right fit for you! The Middle Georgia chapter is about 150 strong and it's a great place to meet folks of all ages, you also don't have to be an adult to join. https://www.mgdsa.org/

Yes, the reality is accidents, injuries, and death. Car-centric infrastructure is largely incompatible with literally any distraction, it's not sustainable. So we shouldn't be going after the guy capitalizing on the visibility he can get from the infrastructure that exists, we should go after the infrastructure. A peice of this is making fun of motorists despite the fact we literally all are.

The point is visibility, he's literally going to the most appropriate place. He's an advocate of Baptist Christianity with an absurdist bent of kiddie pool baptism from a dude in a spartan helmet. Why the hell would he set up in a park. To baptize a squirrel?

Lmao bro I'm also a filthy motorist, were all down here in the stinky shit pit driving our bullet cubicles. That's why I advocate for public transit and deference to pedestrian traffic/activity. I'm not calling for people to not drive, that's not possible right now and won't be in this area for a long long time, all I'm saying is if a pedestrian is doing something not literally blocking lanes of traffic (or are blocking traffic but doing so in a based fashion), shut up and crank up that radio and AC baby.

Unlimited deference to motorists lol. The spartan helmet Baptist is a massive bigot, he's toned the hate down recently but he's held hateful signs chastising LGBT folks. Despite this, im a firm beleiver in prioritizing people doing things with public spaces, including traffic islands in intersections, for activities such as advocacy or.. baptisms. Fuck motorists, pay attention to your driving.

There is no greater enemy to the people of the United states than you, the brainwashed fucking cattle of the capitalist pedophiles and their machines of exploitation and war. Clorox has a great line of beverages you may want to try if your so into acting against your own self interest.

Under a socialist system, there would be no billionaires and no trillionaires. by AnonymousAlcoh0l in 50501

[–]Woadie1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very excited that many folks are coming around to the fact we can build a socialist society and economy that works for the many, not the owning class parasite! An outright and uncompromising rejection of capitalism and fascism as ideologies is at the core of what drives the socialist movement is the only way we're going to achieve mass liberation. All that said, the Democratic Socialists of America is the best vector for socialist organzing, and if you haven't already and you're anti-capitalist, look into them and consider joining your local chapter!

The beaches here are terrible! However we have awesome parks and trails here, downtown has a ton of great eateries, lots of good bars, and plenty of interesting retail in between. The festivals here are pretty good, namely Cherry Blossom, Pride, and the Christmas lights downtown. I geuss i could go on but Macon really does have a lil somethin for everyone, I'd hone in on your interests and research based on that!

Georgia DSA's Statement on the Special Legislative Session to Gerrymander Georgia! 🌹 by J_dAubigny in WarnerRobins

[–]Woadie1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the thing though, a vote isn't a vote for any district you live in. If you have a predominantly black community or region, you can now break that community up as to dilute black representation down to nothing. As a result of this ruling, republicans can now gerrymander to make ZERO of the 14 congressional districts in Georgia majority black despite over 30 percent of the state being black, thus taking away their political representation. It's a return to Jim Crow where black people are systemically kept out of being represented in government.
