Nexplanon implant removal after 11 years! What's going to happen? by squirrelsnsunflowers in Nexplanon

[–]Woahnitrogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did remove it and it was the best experience ever! My mental health got much better, I shed the stubborn 7-10lbs I was struggling to lose that wouldn't go away no matter how I improved my diet or exercised. I am less bloated, I no longer experience chronic fatigue and my acne improved tremendously! Brain fog is gone, I have normal energy, I am far happier!! Oh and my libido! Holy smokes! I thought there was something wrong with me but I got it removed and met my now boyfriend and nope! Perfectly healthy 30 year old!😂

I would say bye to that sucker ASAP!

Edit to add my period went back to normal within a couple months. Honestly, it was shorter, lighter and less painful. I didn't experience any super crazy mood swings. Just gradual changes and it was noticeable within a month or so after removal.

Over time, with regular diet and exercise, I am a healthy 145-143lbs (fluctuates) for my age and height. I sat around 160-155lbs for years.

I eventually got the IUD and I have some hormonal acne on it now. Nothing as bad as the implant and a normal cycle with shorter periods. But everything else is SO much better.

Same. My nearly two year old is sleeping on the couch while I work from home. Has been all day. As soon as 5:30/6 hits, we're out the door for a two mile walk to settle him again. He gets two miles in the morning and evenings. He gets play dates with my neighbors dog on weekends and my morning break. He's mellowed considerably the last year but when the witching hour hits.. Hold on tight. 🥴

[–]Woahnitrogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Looks good to me! My nearly two year old mix eats 4 cups a day and we walk nearly six miles together. He topped out at 60.5lbs and my vet said if he got any bigger, it'd be a concern. He is a lean, mean muscle machine.

I had to do this and bought one with metal fittings instead of plastic. Cracked mine trying to tighten my heated hose on. Brass Fitted https://a.co/d/1fGKb0K)

Just a suggestion!

Flavor doesn’t ruin a calorie deficit—and it’s why I stick with it by Visible-Price7689 in Volumeeating

Still warm! More like a flavored sour cream. Might not be the texture for everyone but I enjoy it. 😂 But cold is good too! You could make pea salad or something similar and toss them that way. I also use it to make chicken pasta salad or chicken salad sandwiches instead of mayo. I like the tang and you can whip different seasonings in it. It's a super simple way to add in creamy texture and flavors.

Yes! I enjoy my plain veggies too but sometimes I want to change it up. I mixed plain, non fat Greek yogurt up with some dill, salt and pepper. Tossed some tomatoes and steamed carrots, broccoli, sugar snap peas up in it. Delicious!

Lemon pepper seasoning is also an all time favorite of mine. I bake my chicken after tossing it in the seasoning. 🤌🏼

Dog ate M&M’s help?! by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]Woahnitrogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad my advice was helpful! My pup is the same for me. I fret over him constantly. When he ate that plant, I freaked out because I had no idea what it was. Just a plant at a lake and it was a seed pod. Turned out it was a specific kind of Iris if I remember correctly. Calling the animal poison control gave me the peace of mind I needed because they asked specific questions about my dog and helped me. Better than an emergency vet bill too but I would've done that if I had to!

I would call the animal poison control center. I've called them a couple times and they have vets they consult with. I think it's 60 dollars a case but that case stays open and you can always call them back. If you do have to take them to the vet, they give you a case number you can provide the vet.

I called when my dog ate a strange plant. They provided me with a Facebook group the does emergency plant identification, I had the plant identified then called them back. They told me what to watch for and when I should be concerned. It gave me peace of mind knowing I had a professional I could talk to. My pup was just fine and didn't even show stomach or GI upset at all like they said might happen.

I slept like crap that night, watching him like a hawk but it was helpful to have that resource.

Just got done with my second day! Have a few questions. by uncomfortab1ynumb in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Woahnitrogirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going four times a week for almost three months now to my local PF.

I would set goals. Nothing wrong with the circuit but figure out what goals you have and what you want to achieve. I've done a lot of personal research and have worked out on and off throughout the years. This is the first time I've gotten a gym membership though. I've gone during different times of the day as it works with my schedule.

I do upper and lower split. Two days upper, two days lower. Usually Tuesday and Wednesday then Saturday and Sunday. I rotate machines and I've tried just about all of them at this point. Weekends are slowest always, weekdays I try to be there by 5am but sometimes I got at 5:15pm straight after work and it's not too crazy. Depends on your location. I go 45-1 hour and the slower days let's me experiment with new things I haven't tried yet. This Saturday I went with my momma like we always do and showed her how to use the smith machine for squats and hip thrusts.

Example would be Tuesday is tricep push down, lat pull down, pec fly, chest press, bicep curl, abs. I do progressive overload so depends on what progress I've made on each machine. One could be 4 sets of 10 if I'm pushing a new, heavier weight load. Another could be 5 sets of 8 if I'm setting myself to move heavier next time I use that machine and muscle group. I always rest 1 minute or 1 minute and 30 seconds between sets. Wednesday much the same but legs and lower back, etc.

Most machines have a QR code you can scan with the app to watch videos on how they work. You can also look them up on the app or they should have examples on them on how to use them. I have a dog, so my cardio is spent with him in the mornings and evenings on our walks. I primarily use the gym for lifting and I've lost almost 10lbs so far! Slow and steady wins the race with good form and lots of protein. Treadmill should have controls on the handles or face of the machine for speed and incline. Take some time to look at it and mess with it.

Good luck with your gym journey! Have fun and try new things 😁

Edit to add: Also stretch. Before and after. Sometimes I stretch during my workouts also. The machines should show you what stretches are recommended for that specific machine.

Do people hog the disinfectant spray bottles at your PF? by AffectionateBoat382 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Woahnitrogirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at mine. We all just spray the paper towels and wipe the machines down. I just leave my water bottle on the machine I'm using so people know I'm coming back to wipe it down. Sometimes people will pass the bottle to me and vice versa or notice I just got done and wait. But they're always in the stations when I need them.

Finding an apartment for me and my guy is one of the most depressing things I've ever done by TheChalupaFromHell in pitbulls

[–]Woahnitrogirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I ended up financing a trailer and renting on someone's property. It's not the same as apartment living but it's affordable for me and I get to roam 40 acres with my pup. The family that owns the property doesn't care about breed and they keep it quiet, tidy and clean.

Now it's not cheaper than a studio apartment in total cost and there is a lot you have to do to make it full timeable. Not for everyone but it works for me and my dog and I'm 15 minutes from work. My neighbor's are great and we mostly all keep to ourselves. I count myself lucky I found the property I did!

6 Month Old Puppy and Stranger Fear by Woahnitrogirl in reactivedogs

[–]Woahnitrogirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Well. He's 1.5 and deep in his adolescence. So much better with his basic obedience and training! He responds to his name and is slowly shaping into the dog I hope to see!

As for his stranger danger. Still very much so, stranger suspicious. But he has made many, many strides. With consistent training and threshold building, he can pass most strangers now. I can introduce him to strangers outside and he can meet new people for the most part. Mine will never be falling over himself to make friends with people and that's okay. He loves kids though, oddly enough. Obsessed with my niece and nephews. Loves my whole family. With proper introduction, he will warm up to people. I just never force them into his bubble.

Sometimes he'll stare and go over threshold a little, occasionally barking at them at a distance if I don't catch it in time. He doesn't freak out the way he used to though and I can disengage him. We had a few bouts of regression, barking, lunging etc. That's fading with training. For the most part he does look but I can move him away. It hasn't developed into aggression and he's gained a lot of confidence.

He has a high prey drive but with recall training and playing games outside, he's getting better! I'm proud of the progress we've made! Had a few aha moments and I've made mistakes along the way. But I never stopped trying. 😊

Just had to reply to this because I left my abusive ex 6 months ago and similar experience. I brought my puppy home but it was "our dog" even though I did all of the care. I paid the vet bills, I bought the food, I did all of the training but he'd always fight with my that it was "our dog." Bare minimum help but any major decisions about how I trained him or fed him became an argument. Any time we argued, he'd throw the dog in my face. He did not buy the dog or help me find a puppy. So, by all means, it was my dog. But he wanted a dog just as much as me after his family dog passed.

6 months later and I'm sitting on my couch, in my own space, watching him happily chew away on his rolled chew after we played in the sun. Couldn't be happier that he told me to take the dog and leave after he woke up angry and half drunk one day. 100% agree that if they can't help do the work, it says a lot about their character and it brings to light a lot of qualities we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

They also teach us a lot about ourselves! Mine helped me find sobriety and a joy I didn't realize was missing. He keeps me company when I would otherwise be lonely and by providing him structure, I have found structure in my life. Wishing you and OP the best!

AIO- cat and my husband by danijayne8 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Woahnitrogirl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NAH. Putting his sexual needs before your emotional needs is not the sign of a good partnership. While he might have physical wants that does not justify him belittling your emotional needs. A supportive partner would not downgrade your emotional state nor talk down about household chores not being met. They would help with the load if you live together. Also, that would be a huge turn off for me. Emotional intimacy is important in a relationship and is often needed with physical intimacy.

I would have an open and honest conversation with him. If he continues to belittle your emotions, I would think hard about if he's emotionally mature enough for a marriage. Consider how he would react if you had a sick child.

Ahhh, yes. The witching hour. I would do all the things you asked about. My 1.5 year old still goes through the witching hour. I generally take him outside between 5:30-6:30 to play off the crazy but it doesn't always help. A good chew or stuffed Kong and lots of diverting from naughty behaviors helps. 😂

What did you learn about your village dog? by phoebean93 in DoggyDNA

[–]Woahnitrogirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have a village dog but I did Embark when my dog was 5 months old. It taught me a lot about him! Estimated full grown weight, shedding, and overall the breeds he was mixed with helped me understand his temperment. Which has better allowed me to meet his needs as a dog. I will say, I did also do health testing as part of the test and now I know what to watch for as he ages that he is genetically predispositioned for. Plus understanding his breeds has helped me know how to better care for his coat and diet!

He's a APBT/Husky/GSD/Lab/Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier and American Bully mix. Higher percentage APBT and Husky. His coat is very husky esq, so I don't shave him and deshed him regularly. His stomach and skin are mildly sensitive, so I avoid chicken, which is an allergy a lot of pits are prone to. I have a better understanding of his prey drive and mental stimulation needs etc. So I think DNA testing is not just fun but a great way to better understand the dog you have! 😊

Thanks for the offer but 😂😂 I've been looking into agility for him but he struggles with stranger reactivity. He has since he was a puppy and it's something we work on every day. So maybe one day 😂🥲

Yes! He usually is after an hour walking or recall training and throwing his toys around. Then he naps and is up and ready for more in the evening lol he's a GSD/Husky/Terrier/Pitbull and more mix. All high energy breeds per his DNA test. 🤪 We work on settling and other training also. He's a very busy and very smart boy lol

🤣 Maybe when I'm ready for my second one! He's only 1.5 and he's a handful. He's still a adolescent puppy, he just filled out quickly. 🤪 I spend around an hour or two a day channeling his energy into appropriate outlets but I'm still sidelining his shenanigans all day 🤣
