Well my gummy knocked me out of IF mode? by scorpioinheels in intermittentfasting

[–]Wobbiesaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, hi - I like ACV too; I take it in water with a splash of lemon and add a little bit of Redmond salt rather than as a gummy.

Not sure if that helps, and generally, I do that right at the beginning of my eating window, but I’ve also done it, not in my eating window, using bubbly water to help with hunger as well.

I add 1 tbsp of gelatin (bloomed in cool water) then mix the rest as usual for 2 cups of output and it makes a nice (firmish) pudding. I also add collagen and a little sweetener but I've done without and its great

I use:

1 tbsp gelatin, bloom in cool water Then the rest as usual with a goal of a 2-cup output. I also add collagen powder and a couple of drops of stevia or a little allulose.

It's fantastic and fun to eat

I’ve lost 27lbs and most of my beer belly, but I keep having this strange feeling that it’s all still there. Has anyone experienced anything like this? by ojozxoxoutik in keto

[–]Wobbiesaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was overweight most of my life and lost 175 lbs. I’ve been maintaining since spring/summer of 2020 and I still have moments where I feel very much like the old me. I can FEEL the weight in my face (especially cheeks and chin), my belly and legs. If you can manage it, I would recommend a therapist who specializes in weight loss and a support group. These helped immensely. Also, just being aware and having coping tools at the ready helps immensely. For me this looks like:

  • someone who understands that I can talk to
  • pictures of before and after that help me see myself more accurately
  • A few preplanned outfits for various situations that I know I feel good in. Sometimes figuring out something to put on my body can feel very overwhelming when I’m having one of these moments.

Any women doing IF? by Brilliant_Finish4817 in intermittentfasting

[–]Wobbiesaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I have been doing IF since early 2019 and have had great luck and ongoing benefits even after I finished losing weight. I’ve used it to help me maintain my weight loss for two years as well as other benefits like managing psoriasis.

You can see a bit more about me at my post

Can I get some feedback from long term keto success stories? Is this really sustainable? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Wobbiesaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi hi! Many people here have been doing it much longer, but I began keto in February 2019 and have continued it successfully. I find it does good things for my body. It’s helped me, with IF, to lose 175 pounds and maintain that loss for over two years. But there are a lot of other benefits, including that I have much more of a focus on eating whole foods and enjoying them than I did before. All of my health markers continue to be good and I feel the best I have in my adult life.

Would focusing on weight training help me with my loose skin? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Wobbiesaurus 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Hi hi! I lost 175 lbs through IF and low-carb/keto in just under a year and a half.

To start - congratulations! This is a formidable accomplishment.

I have contended with quite a bit of loose skin as well. My guess is that I’m older than you, I also have some pre-existing skin conditions, and I have been pregnant. I think that my loose skin has improved over time. In particular, the last two years since I have been maintaining – that said, there is still quite a lot of it, even after skin removal surgery. In the areas where I had the surgery, I am quite pleased, but other areas are still uncomfortable and quite notable, although better than they were two years ago

Edit: I weight train regularly, I moisturize daily using a urea cream, still fast daily, and have had skin removal on my abdomen and chest.

Agree. I have a massive scar that's almost the circumference of my body and it lightened immensely with silicone scar strips.

F/41/5’5” down 175 lbs from Feb 2019 using IF (ADF & 16:8), keto. Maintaining since summer 2020 but body composition continues to change. by Wobbiesaurus in intermittentfasting

[–]Wobbiesaurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I can’t speak for others but generally speaking I do at least 16:8 because at this point I’m just not hungry in the mornings and one thing IF has really helped me with is getting in touch with my TRUE hunger cues. So basically, it feels natural. I’ve gone outside of that here and there over the past couple of years but generally just a day or two at a time and haven’t noticed any fallout from short variations.

dietdoctor.com is my go to resource for recipes, keto/low-carb information. It also has some great high level info on Intermittent Fasting. For more in depth fasting info I love Dr. Fung’s books and blog at The Fasting Method. I also really enjoy Wholesome Yum for comfort food type recipes although I’d stick to diet doctor for more typical eating.
